Jonathan Weiss has been a hockey fan since the days of the Original Six, when he was growing up in New York City. As a youngster, he avidly followed the Rangers and occasionally played pond hockey at Kissena Park in Queens.
After moving to Washington DC in the late 1970's, Jonathan attended an occasional NHL game at the old US Airways/Capital Centre (when he could afford it) and then the new MCI Center (now Verizon Center). He got caught up in all the excitement when Ted Leonsis bought the Washington Capitals in 1999 and in a moment of exuberance signed on as a season's ticket holder. He's stuck with the Capitals through thick and thin ever since.
