Firstly sorry if my text implied that you were done with the Raiders, that wasn't my intention! Truely sorry if that's how it read. I'm 41 and have lived through all the points you made too. I had to wait a week to find out though (i.e. the signing of Jay Schroeder!) as we used to get a weekly newspaper over here (First Down) which was generally the only way to find out what was going on, how the internet has changed that. Hopefully I'm forgiven?
I live about forty miles north of London but I know the Fullers on Tothill Street well as it's only a couple or four miles from Stamford Bridge where Chelsea FC play so it's familiar to me. I've been there on a number of occasions!
Small world though both you and Jeff have had 'Beer O'clock' in a place I know well.

Rick, You have the same name that a very famous and published columnist had. He was killed in a traffic accident in 1986 or 1987. I felt he was the only good thing to ever happen to Peoria or the Peoria Journal Star our local newspaper. You should buy his book; it is still a good read and uses sarcasm so well I am truly envious.

Actually, I never even suggested you could not laugh at yourself. It just seemed you were pigeon-holing Carlin in the same way you were criticizing him for doing. He did have that venomous tendency late in his career, though--I'll agree with you there. And your first comment came before what Spenser said, so that was what caught my eye.
Anyway, I do hope you have some stuff of your own in the future, and it's all about dialogue...thanks fro contributing, whether we agree or not.
