Terry's Bio

Grew up in Charlotte and have been a Carolina basketball fan forever. Alas, we had no pro sports yet, so I spent summer evenings listening to Braves games on the radio and counting down to Hank Aaron's record-breaker (no steroids involved). I was a Redskins fan (ouch) and the NBA wasn't really on my radar. The NHL still isn't.

I moved to New England in 1974 and immediately jumped on the notorious Patriots bandwagon. Yeah, that was some bandwagon. Those 2-12 seasons were a delight. Even when the Pats won, they lost. That first Super Bowl was something I have tried to forget and cannot. You had to love Walter Payton, though.

The Red Sox broke my heart within less than a year after I moved to Boston, and that delight persisted for many years.

I love the Celtics, and I think of the 80s as the Cedric Maxwell years. The rest of the team was pretty cool too, especially that blond guy from Indiana.

Today I am living peacefully and appreciatinging the successes of the past several years: enjoying the Celtics' title, praying for the Sox and maintaining absolute confidence that Belichick, Brady and company will always find a way.

Even my dog has a Patriots jersey.

  1. They did great! We won 14-0. Except, on the last play we had to wait an hour for the ambulance because one of the other team's players broke both arms. So that wasn't as great, but our A team got crushed 36-8.

  2. haha... thanks Terry! I appreciate it.

  3. Actually, My brother's team is 1-0. We are working hard for our game on Thursday, and i think it'll be fun. They're trying really hard.

Manning isn't a problem for me. I think that the biggest problem for me is the offensive line and Bob Sanders.

  4. checked the article out stupid jealousy asante samuel looked good tonight in the eagle steelers game whish we still had em but i'm pretty sure the plan that the pats have is for next year god bless they have an easy schedule again no worries but this is the cowboy's year

  5. Hey bro the Pats are depleted finally have broken down no worries though tom brady is young the team has to start rebuilding no worries here this season has been a messed up one still a ways to go this game for miami was a revenge game don't think the pats's will forget this beating

  6. Yeah, both my teams dropped the ball yesterday (excuse the pun). I responded to the wrong comment, it just makes me laugh everytime that guy leaves a blank message to show that he ignoring Eddie. Cassel played a very good and smart game yesterday. The Jets offense was non existent.

  7. Thanks for the note Terry.

Eddie's been warned twice, so if he violates the Terms of Use again he's gone. Make sure to flag any inappropriate comments you see so I can take action.

    Enjoy the weekend,
    Z

  8. You should write. There are a lot of guys to help you edit it and they make you look smart, which I am not.

  9. No problem, I knew who that was directed at. Just to clarify, I respect a great deal of what has been done in New England, I just don't BB and I think Tom got cocky last year. To be honest, I'm not so sure Mangini isn't cut from the same clothe as BB.

  10. That Saints and Bucs game should be a dandy even though I have the Saints by 7 I never rule out coach Jon Gruden the game could be by 3 shit who knows. I thought Wasington was going to upset the Giants but that fell through isn't it funny how New England is always favored to win by spreads like 16 20 and so on and then when they do cover everyone gets all pissy like they didn't know it was coming!

  11. hey Terry check out my football picks for this sunday let me know what you think thanks

  12. thanks man, take it easy

  13. ive been in law school doing more important things than spending all day writing nonsensical comments on people's articles without writing one of my own. but keep up the asshole remarks, no, seriously.

  14. You got it...Truce that is. I just ask that you go a little easier on your posts. Please go back and read my last 10 comments and I promise you will understand a little more about what tye of fan I am. That is the posts that aren't directed at you. I swear that I will look at your posts objectively if you look at mine in the same light.

  15. Trust me, I'll never forget the few times my parents took me to the old stadium. I was at Tom Brady's first professional start there, which was also Bruce Armstrong Day, since he retired once Bledsoe went down. My first game at Foxboro Stadium was '98, and that was my first pro sports game. Once I went to the Fleet Center and Fenway, and eventually Gillette Stadium, I began to appreciate how awful it really was.
