Do we waste too much time with all this sports business or does it serve a greater purpose than our own amusement? It creates conversation between acquaintances, strangers, and relatives who otherwise would have nothing to say. It provides hope and light for McJobbers. It's a cultural excuse to gather together. It encourages kids to exercise, and encourages adults to feel like kids again.
