Hi, I'm Nick (short for Nicolás). I was raised watching Futbol Club Barcelona, who I will always think of as the best club in the world. Why do I love Barça? Beautiful football from when Rinus Michels and Johan Cruyff brought total football to Catalunya to when Pep revolutionized football with tiki taka. The most amazing players I've seen from Laudrup to Pep to Rivaldo to Ronaldinho to Xavi Iniesta and Messi. La Masia de Can Planes, where stars to be learn the beautiful game. Barcelona B, where I can watch some of the brightest young players and see them become great. The iconic red and blue shirt. The Senyera proudly displayed. The motto més que un club and what it means for the people it represents. Oh, and El Clásico where we get to play our friends from the capital.
I am sad to say the club nowadays does not always live up to what made so many fall in love with it. Please don't think my cynicism means I don't love the club.
Even though he is a d***, Suarez is a fantastic player and is certainly an upgrade on Pedro/Sanchez. You now have 3 of the 4 best players in the world in my opinion.
Hey man, I used to talk to 'Tre Gulley' about Barca but he's been absent for some time now. What I wanted to asked is that how do you think Barca is going to work this season because I have no clue.
While Suarez is a great player in my opinion he's too indivudalistic and works best with a team built around him. This is the same with Neymar which explains the difference between his good performances for Barca and his great performances for Brazil. The best case scenario is that you get an Henry, Etoo, Messi situation where there all scored goals and worked together quite well. However "true" tiki-taka hadn't really kicked into gear like it did under Guardiola so I'm sceptical of that solution.
Also what about Rakitic? He's a box to box player and a Paul Scholes-esque long passer I really don't know how he fits in with the philosophy.
Unless Enrique makes some significant changes I can't see it working.
I can see Barca using the 4-3-2-1 'Christmas tree formation'
James signing is just like the bale one, another unnecessary signing that could turn out to be an important player for the team. To me he's not necessary but since theres a 90% chance he's coming to madrid, now thats ancellotti's headache to make him necessary. No way in hell is he benching benzema. He cant play that position, he's better off behind the striker. We need more depth on the wings, one more winger. I think he'll either be a rotational player or ancellotti is going to change formation and ditch our great 4-3-3, just to fit them all in and give them enough game time to not complain.
I posted this same stuff on jazels page, this is what i think about kroos
Honestly, kroos is a great player and all but im not sold on him, i have reasons. IN germany Kroos has a nickname "schleichenden Fuß" which means "Creeping foot". and they call him that with good reason, now im not trying to make him look bad but his defensive capabilities is the only thing that concerns me, as Madrid were big on defense last season, which was the reason we were able to run so deep in the CL, CDR, good cooperative defence and attack. And many Madridistas seem to forget that this was the same Kroos that our very own Angel Di Maria, Modric, benzema were running past like he wasnt even there in the CL semi's second leg, and kroos did little to nothing to stop them.
All he did that game was just spray the ball around like old man Xavi does now adays. And there have been numerous games where kroos has done that kind of crappy defensive display. I made a case for that on a B/R article and someone told me that kroos made 47 tackles last season, like WTF is that supposed to do? stats NEVER and will NEVER tell the whole story, not a lot of people get that. But hey in todays logic, "because a striker scored a goal" equates to "he had a great game, terrorising the opposition defence, running at the defence" etc when in reality all he did was poach around for 90 Mins. All the madridistas are buying his 'Attacking' sales pitch and all the greatness he'll add to our already great attack and what not and they seem to forget the defending. A good attack can get you goals, but a good attack with poor defence equals to a Liverpool type season ahead. Where the attack is clicking as the defence is leaking and it WILL come back to bite the teams behind in the end. Excuse the rhyming, wasnt meant to happen lol
Welp if argentina had won, any ronaldo fanboy that dare rare his head would have his head cut off lol
I'm so F*CKING PISSED about the Suarez signing. Dude wtf is wrong with the club? Okay so we went without trophies last season but it's not like we came 6th in the league? We lost on the final day, reached the final of the Copa, and the QF of the UCL. There's no need to compromise on the values and sign a biting piece of sh*t.
Who will you now be supporting for the tournament? And who do you think will win it?
Disappointing from Spain... Truly...
Exactly, the refs will do their best to carry brazil all the way to the final. So many dubios decisons being made by the refs.
Ronaldo's nagging injury is ruining his world cup and will cost portugal advancement
Hey nick, hows it going? hows the world cup going for you?
