With just a couple of days before the 2010 Ford Ironman Championship in Hawaii, I talk with one of the favorites—last year's runner-up, American Chris Lieto:

Hey Ted.....any thoughts on how my post on Giants Benched Rowand was deleted ? Hey I just want to play with the other kids. Hell I've even thrown in the towel as far as ruminating over what if's , whose fault, and I can't even process what happened last night against the Rocks. I have been in Bochy's shoes, with even more bizarre circumstances , so I in fact know exactly what his state of disbelief had to be. anyway You could just let me know if you no longer wish for anymore of my posts.
Hey Ted , if I put all of that together maybe a book, no ? Probably to much repetition. I guess I now know what it's like to be batting practice.
Ted , it seems I've been rejected by the BR web site . Have enjoyed the banter , Though my disdain with giant management must be wearing thin, I hardly thought it would merit censorship. Is this website owned by the Giant Organization ? It would make it easier to explain away. Really wanted to comment on your article about the resurfacing of "The Bruce" tonight. Way better than the nothing of many games already played .No way in hell he was going to get Hitting coached in L.A. Stirring come from behind win. What is up with umpiring this season ? Abysmal performances becoming the norm. Creating their own movement for Instant replay I can only guess. I will miss your work and the back and forth. Ciao Ted, always a good read.
Why do you look so much like Karl Malden?
You list "the Catch" as your historical moment. I would agree but I did not attend that game. If speaking in terms of a moment seen "live", the most thrilling, for me, was an Alley Oop from Brodie to Owens against Detroit. It was played at Kezar and the catch provided a 49er win with just seconds to play. A close second was watching Willie Mays hit his 600th homer, being, at the time, only the second man to do so. It may be interesting for your blog members to recount their most thrilling moments. I suppose the Alley Oop impressed me so much due to my age. I was in my mid teens and thought I'd never see the like again. I'd bet many of our great sports memories are clouded by age.
