I enjoyed your article on Russell and Wilt as the most prolific shot blockers. I'll go to more of your articles.
I wonder, are there basketball historians in the same sense as the baseball guys? That is, guys who scour newspaper accounts to settle sports questions.
You referred to press accounts of various remarkable games in which Bill and Wilt went nuts blocking shots. I wonder if anyone has actually searched newspapers and sports magazine weeklies (Sporting News, SI, etc.) to get a credible estimate.
The baseball guys themselves would be a valuable resource - if only to point to the various archives - not to do the actual work (hoops guys ought to do that).
