Avery -
Add that to the article - and to the headline too. "Hughes Says He is Good" or along that line. Well, at this point, do a whole new article based around his injury and then your questions to him and what he offered. Its a whole new story and you will get some very big play on it.
YES - I'd love some minor pictures taken by you of Phil Hughes - thats is what I'm talking about. Next time you go there, print a copy of the pic at Kinkos or home (if you have photo paper) before the game and get him to sign it for you - ;O) then frame it and dont ever touch it again.

Tweaked it a bit Avery - hope you like.
If not then feel freee to go to the "edit option" and find where it says "revert to this revision" - its a link. click on that and then save edit - publish and bam, it's the original -or whatever edit you like. Or you can go into what I editted, find out exactly what I did - and change those up if you like too. Did this really happen with Hughes? I checked the roster and he's not on it - but then again, he is rehabbing too. THe article was tagged as satire-meaning a joke.
You know what you should do Avery? Since you go to a lot of triple A teams, why not ask them questions so that you can report on them? What did Huighes say? Did you ask him how he was feeling? That type stuff - you can use it next time to write a newsbreak-
It was a great article my friend,
Pat
You know Hughes has a blog where he interacts with fans online, right? You should check it out dude -

Re Sr Writer - No, I wasn't a founder of the site, they found me. I had written for some other online sites as well. Here's the deal on progression through the ranks.... you'll see plenty of writers with over 75 articles whom are still "analyst."
Numbers help, but supporting yourself with "embedded links" in your articles serves to support the sites credibility - and your own credibility as a writer. Links are good and very easy to find.
You can definitely be the Hamilton Top Writer - no doubt about it. when you write about him try and keep on point and make it about Josh, his team and teammates...you know? Also give links in your articles for stats and other publications that you find relevant your piece.
If you ever need someone to bounce ideas off or have any questions - feel free dude, I am always around.

Yeah, it took a tole on me when I was 9 losing Thurm. You know that age.
Yes, Gramp was the manager of the Syracuse Stars, sent down from the Torotno maple Leafs to manage their new famr team. They won the Calder Cup in the 1930s but were nnever presented it as the next season the league disbanded due to WW2, 440,000 American Soldiers were killed in that one. Anyhow, after the war the league reactivated and Syracuse was sold to Bufflao and became the Bisons -who are now the Sabres of course. Dad donated a bunch of hockey items from his father's team and remains a Leafs fan eventhough born in NY. Me? Goooo Rangers!
Tony Conigliaro is a very big name indeed my friend. That is way cool. My brother, somehow, became and is a hughe Red Sox fan.
As far as collectors items, that's a signed by Gregg Nettles photo with Thurman Munson 8x10 MLB pic on the wall behind me. Signed Bucky Dent 8x10 MLB too. The other signed 8x10 is 22. I have signed cards from Girardix2, 96 season; Bobby Murcer, Tim Raines, Goose, Jimmy Keys and some others from football signed too. Got Williams Rookie Card in mint condition - you'll love this - I order a blind lot this past offseason - guess whose in it after all the turmoil from Mitchell?
Barry Bonds rookie card-mint condition! lol
Alright brother

Oh yeah - Joba is probably the most talented rookie I have seen in 30 years of watching...great potential and what a story with his dad. It is refreshing to see such a humble guy finally, Josh has that going for him too. THere are just alot of pri-madonas nowadays, so I like those with good manners. Josh and Joba have them.

Avery,
Well, Hamilton is a great story and a noted power hitter, the scouts used to compare him to the Mick (Mantle) which is saying a lot. My favorite? Well as a younger guy, my favorite was Thurman Munson - the 2nd all time captain on the Yanks. He died in a planbe crash in his prime, when I was 9 yrs old in 1979. After that, it was kind of hard for me to watch for several years-though I always played.
My dad played for the navy and then in the great lakes league. He was offered a try out with some Major League teams but refused because he had just recieved news of his first son on the way. That was in the 1950s, a very much different day from today.
I have been a Clemens fans for 24 years, who has turned out to be an unfortunate story. Outside of him I have also liked Pettitte. Needless to say the off-season was tough on me, becuase I hadnt heard of this stuff prior and just had faith that they were being honest.
Now? Not so sure about any of em, though performance was enhanced most by the league, who took the fences in from 450 to 400 feet, lowered the mound and changed the ball-all in hopes of more home runs. I cant say that all pro's havent used something at one time or another, nor can I say that the league didnt know about it. PEDs have been around since the 80s, at least. I was even offered them in highschool in 1988 - so if I had been offered them, I can only imagine what the pros had been offered. We just never thought they would be in baseball. IN the 80s it was all over in football, where size really matters.
That said, I guess Mike Mussina, A-Rod and Giambi are my favs. If I had to chose a clean one? Jeter or Posada. My guys are pretty much done with; Paul O'Neil, Bernie Williams and Tino were my 90s trio.
If I had to look to an source of inspriration it wouldnt be in football, basketball or baseball - though Josh is a great story. G-Father and Father are also in the Hockey Hall of Fame - so I wil be covering a lot of hocket this year.
What a site, huh?
Keep up the great work-
