Mark's Bio

First and foremost, I want to give many thanks to the founders of B/R for giving us all the opportunity to voice our opinions about anything and everything.

I started writing about hockey roughly two years ago, and it all started here on B/R. Some things about the Boston Bruins, but most about my favorite hockey players—Pavel Bure, Alexander Mogilny, and Ilya Kovalchuk. After a handful of Red Sox pieces, and a number of general NHL topics, I focused on my home team, the B's.

Zander gave me the opportunity to become a co-community leader for the Boston Bruins—it was then when I became truly passionate and serious about sports journalism. I took a certification course online for Freelance and Sports Journalism last summer, while I continued to write here.

B/R opened many doors for me. I am currently working for Examiner.com as the Boston Bruins Examiner, and have been on-air at WGAM Radio as a guest speaker talking about the Bruins. http://www.examiner.com/x-2711-Boston-Bruins-Examiner

  10. Hey Mark

Just thought I would check in with you to let you know about some new alignment to the NHL Community Leaders.

As you know, Alan Bass, Bryan Thiel, and myself are the current Co-Community Leaders of the NHL section of this page. In order to make things a little easier for everyone, and to allow more focus on specific areas, the three of us have had our duties divided, along with Ken Armer.

Although we are still free to peruse every part of the NHL section, and are of course free to help anyone that needs it, my new designated Community Leader area is the Northeast division, which of course includes your Boston Bruins.

Basically it doesn't really change anything on your end. If you do have any questions or whatever, I will be your guy to go to. Of course if you feel more comfortable talking to Alan, Bryan, or Ken, by all means don't hesitate.

Anyways, I thought I would send you a little note to let you know about the new alignments of the CL's. As the guy who oversees the Northeast Division, I look forward to working with you in the future.

    Keep up the good work.

    --Derek
