Hi, how are you? I’m doing great, thanks for asking. My name’s Matt, and I’d like to think I’m a pretty cool guy. I got started with forums a couple years ago, I’d like to say when I was a HS freshman, anyways, I’ve been around the block I guess as far as posting goes. I’ve been kind of on and off though, I don’t like my hobbies to conflict with schoolwork and whatnot.
Oh, and I write for fun. My blog address is http://bleedgreenandred.blogspot.com/, so some of the stuff on there is the same on here, and vice versa, but not all of it. Anyways, some good stuff on there, If I do say so myself
I’m going to be a College freshman at The University of St. Thomas in a couple days (depending on when you read this.) Um, everyone wants to know “what are you going to study?” I’m keeping my options open. I’d love to go into Political Science, be a politician, whatever. I’d also like to go into sportswriting; I love to write, although my grammar just sucks. My parents say I’d be a really good Lawyer, but that’s a shitload of work, and I’d go broke paying for law school.
I was a pretty active guy in High School. I played Hockey, Baseball, did Track, and Swam. I had played Soccer up until senior year, but I got my appendix out and missed like the whole season. I’m probably not going to play DII hockey in college, because I’m not that good in all honesty. I might try out for baseball, but I’m definitely doing track and swimming. I love swimming; I was 2 seconds off a Parolympic qualifying time before I got my appendix out.
Apart from sports, I lead a pretty lame life. I don’t have much time for much else after sports, schoolwork and that’s about it. I’d like to thank Al Gore for inventing the internets though, I’m on a lot. What else? I’m not a big party guy, maybe once every week or so, but I don’t have a car so that makes things kinda tough.
As far as sports go, I’m a pretty active guy. I’m way into hockey and I’m a Minnesota Wild fan. In Minnesota, you can’t really help it, its something in the water. I’m a big High School hockey fan as well, and I’m a big tailgater. I love tailgating football and even baseball games, but Hockey games are by far my favorite. You really can not beat grilling ribs and such when its 20 degrees below zero. I’m a pretty big baseball fan as well, all though the Twins have turned me off, playing in the warehouse they call the Metrodome. I can’t wait until the new stadium in ’10 though.
I identify myself with the Red Sox, though I have only been to Fenway twice. Basketball and Football don’t do much for me, sorry. Fantasy Football is okay, I like winning money off other people. I also enjoy shutting people down in ridiculous arguments.
just ogt back from minnesota wild training camp. check out my latest article!
Rivalries...An essential part of sports today. There are so many, but today I look at the most famous feud in sports being the Boston Red Sox/ New York Yankees feud. For over 100 years, these two teams had been at each other's throats in hopes to win it all in the Fall Classic. So many historic moments that it would be hard to recap their entire history. Here is a short summary of sports' most well known rivalry

Hey Matt, haven't seen you in forever my friend. Check out my tribute to the football players we just lost.
The whole thing about 18,000 fans being on the third line?
Ya...it is because Gaborik isn't playing.....Bah. I wish.
I just like the Wild.....
Hey, no problem. And thanks!
Hey Matt,
I noticed your main topic lately has been the Minnesota Wild, If you plan to keep that continuing you should drop me a line about any interest you may have in becoming the Wild's Community Leader. Email me at karmer@bleacherreport.com.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Maybe we can collaborate on something when we're not as busy...
I know this is very random, But I've always loved the Wild's jerseys. I plan to do an article about NHL jerseys: best and worst, and they are definitely up there.
thanks for the insights Matt,
I have heard a lot about him, with the stats and the salary. but I have also heard he is the type of player who likes to be under the highlights, to be THE player of the team and that kind of stuffs. is it true?
i guess higgins - mcdonagh and a pick is kind of high priced ... but i may be wrong, I dont know what kind of impact he can have. he is a right wing isn't he? we have alexei kovalev and alex tanguay already...
that is a bit killing me! lol
