Paul's Bio

I was raised in the suburbs of New Orleans and moved halfway across the state to Lafayette almost 3 years ago.

Purple and Gold run through my veins. Black and Gold run through my arteries. I was baptized a Saints fan the day I was born. It wasn't long before I also became an LSU disciple.

I am also an ardent fan of the Chicago Cubs and the New Orleans Hornets.

I am starting to think there is a sports curse called, "The Paul Augustin, Jr Curse". None of my pro teams have won a championship in the past 100 years. You can take Bartman off the hook and make me the scapegoat. Some of the pain is eased when I look at the framed photos I have of each of LSU's two recent national titles.

My favorite players are those, like John Stockton, who weren't necessarily the most athletic but beat their opponents with their intelligence, grittiness, and tenacity. His is the first jersey I have ever owned.

I am thoroughly excited that I have welcomed my first child, a son, into the world. I look forward to sharing my love for the Saints and Tigers with him just as my dad did with me when I was an infant.
I will teach him the value of the rally cap and the art of yelling at the TV whenever something goes against our team.

Who Dat! and Geaux Tigers!
