About Gil »

Born in South Chicago, moved to East Oakland. That's where I spent my childhood through high school.
Raider fan since I knew football at 6 in 88'. Current season ticket holder. Enduring the worst 6 going on 7 seasons ever in the NFL. Win or lose, I'm a Raider. Big Warriors fan, also. The future is bright with young guys like A. Randolph, A. Morrow, S. Curry, M. Ellis, A. Biedrins and K. Azubuike. We've seen the drought they've been through, let's just say that winning franchises in Oakland have been missing as of late. I got hope!

The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

Monta Ellis, JaMarcus Russell, Darren McFadden, Nnamdi Asomugha, Kirk Morrison, Marshawn Lynch, Leon Powe, Jason Kidd. In other words, athletes that are FROM Oakland or play with any Oakland team.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Oakland Raiders, Golden State Warriors, Oakland Athletics

  • Favorite Coaches

    Tom Cable and Don Nelson

  • All Time Sports Moment

Being a young kid getting Cal Ripkin Jr's autograph in Oakland during the his last year when he was breaking the consecutive games streak. I was only 13 at the time and I got MOBBED by adults rushing him for autographs. I ended up bruised up a bit but I got my Cal Ripkin Becket signed and a ball on the sweet spot, sweet!

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

The New York Jets game in 2008. First time seeing Bret Farve in person. Our defense shut him down most of the game. He lead them down the field to tie the game with less then 2mins left. The overtime with both teams switching possessions multiple times. JaMarcus stepping up with consectutive plays on the winning drive. Janikowski, showing the super leg and nailing a 57yard field goal to seal it. NICE.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Consecutive games played by Cal Ripkin Jr. Too much money involved and different kinds of athletes around now adays. Too many factors (early clinch, 2+weeks straight games, not wanting to get guys hurt, resting them and others.. IT WONT HAPPEN.

The Raiders are running no where fast. If they can't run the football against the Broncos, things could get ugly...

Hey great news the Oakland Raiders may finally be getting Rid of the teams biggest peice of dead-weight(terdell Sands). The Raiders recently released an unofficial depth chart and he wasn't even on it. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/235810-the-oakland-raiders-may-finally-be-getting-rid-of-terdell-sands
Let me know what you think is Sands really as bad as we all think and what will the Raiders do with him

The Raiders will finally be taking the field in Oakland for the first time since December. Fans and players alike are hungry to answer question like: Who will get the most reps at running back? Who will take the starting job at middle linebacker? And who will be the two starting safeties come September?

The Raiders new receivers coach is starting to feel the heat. The powers that be will be watching how he coaches up the Raiders receivers (especially DHB) very closely...
