Married to a beautiful woman, father of a beautiful daughter and a handsome son, and as of 2.19.08, grandfather of a most handsome grandson! My main business is commercial real estate, but allow me to focus on my other life for the purpose of this website. In my other life I like to write. I have written since junior high school when I was paid 5 cents per word written. I rose to the rank of Sports Editor of my hometown newspaper, the first Donrey newspaper Don Reynolds owned - in Okmulgee, OK. - while I was still in high school. I wrote a weekly column as sports editor called 'Kelley's Korner'. I was blessed to be recruited as the rookie on the staff of the premier Sports Information Director in America, Mr. Harold Keith, the SID at the University of Oklahoma during Bud Wilkinson's reign as OU football coach. I was the lone freshman on a student staff that included Ross Porter, who in later years become one of the voices of the Los Angeles Dodgers; John Brooks, who later became play-by-play announcer on OU's nationwide football radio broadcasts and Jim Jones, who later became Appointments Secretary to the President of the United States, a U. S. Congressman from Oklahoma representing Tulsa's metro area and Ambassador of the U.S. to Mexico.
Subsequent to those college years I followed Jim Jones as the Tulsa World's Sports Correspondent in Norman and worked for 25 years + as Sports Correspondent for the Tulsa World, first under B.A. Bridgewater, then the legendary Bill Connors, Phil Parrish, Mike Brown, John Ferguson, Barry Lewis and others. I've been published in several national magazines.
