About

I work at the Mobile Press-Register, one of the biggest newspapers in the South, as a sports copy editor. I work on page design and edit copy, and I have a writing background from previous jobs. I'm a graduate of Jacksonville State University.

There's that life, then there's my other life as a sports fan. I have partial season tickets to the Braves, and am a huge fan of Atlanta sports teams. That's something my dad gave me. I saw the Hawks take down the Celtics in Game 3 of their opening-round playoff series in 2008. Best experience I've had at a sporting event.

My favorite memory from my childhood was when the Braves won the 1992 NLCS. When Sid Bream slid across home plate on Francisco Cabrera's Game 7 single in the 9th to send Atlanta to its second World Series in a row, my dad picked me up and swung me around, both of us yelling as loud as we could. From then on, sports have been my escape.

Cheers.

Well, I'm glad to see someone else remembers one of the all-time best games played.

And, yeah, SB 33 was one to forget.
