Detroit, City of Champions: How the Greatest Season Ever Impacted the Lions
March 21, 2011
Graduated with a Liberal History degree from Western Michigan University after studying at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I recently had my first book published called: Detroit City of Champions: The Story of The Most Important Season in Detroit Sports History.
I'm a diehard Detroit sports fan, and I study the history of sports alongside my other interests: Colonial American History, and Ancient History.
I look at myself as a humanist, which means I believe that the answers to almost anything can be found by looking at examples from the past.
What I find irritating in sports, is the "herd mentality" of many sports fans and media. If you don't have your own opinion or can't formulate your argument based on facts then just stay with the rest of the herd and keep out of the way.
Always remember that there is a hidden danger in sports. Roman Emperors used to have a plan for keeping the people in order: "give them bread and games and they'll never question what you're really doing behind the scenes."
Now, after getting that out of the way, lets have some fun!!
