Alex's Bio

University of Oregon journalism student fortunate enough to grow up in a region of the United States that is unparalleled in its sports' futility. Twenty one years born and raised in Portland, Oregon and all I have to show for it are a few tantalizing whifs of champaign and cigar smoke and a whole bucket full of the salty tears of heartbreak and failure -- all thanks to the BCS, the Los Angeles Lakers, Ben Roethlisberger and a couple no good cheating zebras.

I love: Phil Knight, Brandon Roy, the Pritchslap, night games at Autzen Stadium, big league baseball in Portland

I can't stand: Fuskies (except B-Roy), John Canzano, the Stoops', Red Sox Nation, Bill Bavasi and the entire Seattle Mariners organization (except Felix)

  1. Hi Alex,

Could you take a look to my latest NFL article?

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/57925-which-nfl-team-is-in-better-position-to-bounce-back-from-a-0-2-start

    Thanks mate.

  2. Thanks for your note, Alex.

  3. thanks Alex, appreciate the feedback, and yeah I have a tendency to run on a bit, I always to go back "re-write", restructuring things, but I often miss some.

    Thanks again, nice job, Craig

  4. Thanks for the edits! Just a clarification, my use of the pronoun "we" is deliberate, but the point isn't driven across accurately enough. I find identifying with sports teams so personally as to feel connected with its success or failure an interesting and someone pathetic behavior and I try to emulate it for comedic effect. I think I need to use it less often, however, since that is clearly not being displayed effectively. I'll limit it's use in the future.

  5. Alex, Thanks for the compliment, edit and the spelling correction. Everything is greatly appreciated. David

  6. Thanks for the edits!

  7. Hey Alex, could you view over an article for me?

    Thanks

  8. Thanks for the edits.

  9. I don't know if it was necc. to further my agenda actually. I really think they have a chance. I'm sure you've heard of Jairus Byrd. I went to HS with him and we played basketball on the same team for 2 years....he's a great guy on and off the field.

    Ben

  10. Hey Alex,

Appreciate you taking the time to fine tune my article. I'm all the better for it!

Looking forward to watching your game and seeing the Ducks play some exciting football against the Dawgs.

    Lew

  11. You're entitled to your opinions and that's fine. I didn't feel like writing a novel, so of course there's other points and counterpoints I didn't include. Part of the reason I'll play the devil's advocate on college football is because too many people are so blindly fans of it like it's all they live and die for. As for you being sorry about being a dick, you want to be a dick about something, that's no big deal to me, but saying you're sorry about it - eh, not quite sure I buy that, but whatever. Thanks for the edits, though.

  12. Hi mate,

I have an article unedited and it's getting no exposure. Could you take a look please?

    Thanks Alex.

  13. Hey Alex,

Thanks for the edits! But when it comes to Cougar football, you're not supposed to be laughing. Come on now.

    Lew

  14. Alex...thanks for the edits!

Is there anyway you can get rid of the slide bar at the end of the article? I copied it from my blog and can't figure out how to delete the field...there are two bars at the end of the blog. Thanks!

    -Lise

  15. Thanks for the edits and the kind words.
