About Ryan »

Junior at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Played football for 8 years and stopped because I love the coaching aspect of the game more than actually playing. I love the Texans and hope to see them in the playoffs by 2010. I also absolutely love the 2007 World Champion Boston Red Sox

The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

Number one favorite athlete has to be my best friend's dad, John Grimsley, who tragically was killed in a gun accident. Dale Earnhardt, Jr., T-Mac, Yao Ming, Mario Williams, DeMeco Ryans, Brian Urlacher, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis, Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Hunter Pence, Roy Oswalt, Josh Harding, Sidney Crosby, and many others.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Texans and anyone that beats the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Aeros, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Soul

  • All Time Sports Moment

Boston Red Sox winning the 2004 and 2007 World Series and the Astros going to the 2005 World Series

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Craig Biggio's 3,000 hit game. Just unbelievable to be there.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

    Pete Rose's all-time hit record.

  • Ruth or Mays?

As much as I hate the Yankees, I have to say Babe Ruth only because he played for the Red Sox and never asked to get traded.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Joe Montana hands down because I grew up watching him play.

  • Pele or Maradona?

I have to say Pele since I know more about him.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big 12 without a doubt since I live in Big 12 territory and then the SEC because of the unbelievable amount of talent.

Hey Ryan,

I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.

Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

Let me know if you need any help with ideas or have questions. Have a great weekend Ryan!

Only administrators can delete comments at the moment when you see inappropriate stuff, email me and I'll take care of it for you.

Down the road, we're going to be implementing a user-flagging system to help monitor the comment threads.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks as always Ryan.

Ok, just wrote my retraction (decided to wait until after Hawaii-Washington so I didn't have to eat my words twice). Check it out. Also gave a shout-out to your Hawaii-Georgia article in there as well.

Yup, I will eat my words and a column is forthcoming in which I eat crow and own up to Hawaii's greatness. With one HUUUGE caveat: IF Hawaii falls to Washington this Saturday, I will laugh all the way to the beach. I'll check out your article.

Re: the addition...

Sounds good to me--remember that you have the ability to edit your own work, so I'll defer to you on making the revision.

Hey Ryan -

Just wrote a response/rant/breakdown of your article countering the point that Hawaii should be in title game consideration. Check it out here:
http://www.bleacherreport.com/articles/3891

Hope you don't take my points the wrong way, I actually thought your article was well written, I'm just fed up with all the pro-Hawaii stuff being thrown around and felt a counterpoint was in order. It's all meant in good fun and you gotta remember that all's fair at Bleacher Report.

Looking forward to your response and Hawaii's performance these next two weeks here's hoping both you and the Warriors make me eat my words.
