Sports have been a part of my life since I was 5 years old. I have played (basketball, football, soccer or futbol, track & field, and swimming) , officiated (soccer, basketball), and coached (basketball) sports my whole life.
Without sports, I don't know where I would be, and certainly would not be the man I am today.
I am uber-competitive, and hate losing, but will not tarnish the game by "doing whatever it takes" to win like some people do.
I don't bitch and whine when I get a foul called on me, and I can't stand it when players do, especially the pros, who get paid to play a game for a living. I take my lumps and keep on moving,
Sportsmanship is very important to me. I may have gone to war with you on the court and traded elbows with you in the paint, but if you beat me I will congratulate you. I may not be the most pleasant person to be around afterwards, but I won't hold it against you.
I'm not flashy, I'm not cocky, I don't cheat and I don't gloat when I win.
In a sense, I guess I'm a little more old school than new school.
Welcome buddy...140 push-ups, well I got 9 pinch-hits in 11 at-bats as a sophomore, beat that!
