About

I am 23 and finishing up my Accounting/Business Management degree at the local Christian university. I love sports and love to talk about the hottest topics that are going on. Go Cubs Go!

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Michael Jordan, Sammy Sosa, Brian Westbrook, Steve Nash, Kosuke Fukudome

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears (when they're good), Kansas Jayhawks

  • All Time Sports Moment

Gotta be Jordan's "push-off" buzzer beater against Bryon Russel and the Jazz in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

It was raining all day long at Wrigley with the Cubs entertaining the Reds. They were down by one run in the bottom of the seventh and the rains pouring. Sosa came up to crack a two-run home run to give the Cubbies the lead. Then the umpires called for a rain delay. The place was electric after that moon shot. The Cubs would later continue the game and win by that same margin.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cal "Iron Man" Ripken Jr.'s 2,632 consecutive games played (that's over 16 straight seasons without a day off)

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth - Though he certainly did not have the defense, he brought his bat with him everyday (a career .342 hitter). He did not have nearly as many all-star selections as Mays, but that might be because they didn't start the all-star game until 1933. Ruth was selected in '33 and '34 but not in '35 (his last three years in baseball). And of course, his long time record of 714 homers didn't hurt either, and oh by the way, he was a seven-time World Series champion as well.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana - This might be because of my Kansas upbringing, but I feel that Joe Montana was the most calm and collected QB in the game. He had the ability to take games over and will his team to victory no matter the circumstance.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan is the best basketball player to have ever played the game.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky - Is is really a question?

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele - Don't know a lot about the two so I have to go with name recognition here.

  • Federer or Sampras?

Sampras - He had the physical skills to play with anyone. I feel that Federer is a gifted athlete but has been helped by advances in technology.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger - Nicklaus set the standard but Tiger has ascended the game and become the target of every golfer's aspirations.

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

Big 11? (Midwest Showdown) - I would definately have to say that the Big 10 and the Big 12 are both intriguing conferences. However, the Big 12 (here comes my Kansas upbringing again) edges out the Big 10 mostly due in part to the more intense rivalries and greater fan support.
