Patti's Bio
My name is Patti. I am from Chicago. I follow sports religously. I particulary watch NASCAR all three series. I follow the Cub's, and the Bulls and the Bears, am I missing anyone? nope. I actually follow MLB as a whole even though your reading articles from a diehard Cubs fan. I try not to be to bias on what I write about although it doesn't come off that way. I will back my opinions with the facts, nothing worse than reading something that has no facts to back someones assumptions. I basically write alot of driver profiles, and track profiles. As soon as College football season starts up I'll be covering ALOT of Big ten football. If i could i do this for a living but I am actually goign to school for Political science and mass communication basically this but writing about politicians. If you have any ideas for articles love to hear them, thats what this about sharing ideas and help improving our writing.

Hey Patti - You commented on my article, MLB Gears up for the hunt for a Red October with your thoughts on the post season. Would love it if you took a look at my newest MLB article, a playoff prediction competition: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/56995
Would love to hear what you think

Hey Patti - copied off this email for you re the Open Mike - hope you will accept the challenge!
Mary Jo
NASCAR Community Leader Adam Amick makes his Open Mic debut:
Ladies and Gentlemen, start the Chase!
Okay folks, the field of 12 is set. Ten races to go to determine the 2008 Sprint Cup Champion. Kyle Busch has obviously been the man of the year in NASCAR, but Carl Edwards hasn't let him out of his sights. And look who's lurking after winning two in a row; two-time defending champion Jimmie Johnson.
So for this week's Open Mic, let's hash out the Chase.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to boldly predict how this is going to shake out in 10 weeks.
I want to know who you think is going to be standing with the trophy in November, but more than that, give us your top-12 finishing order, and reason why.
Some points to ponder as you pontificate:
Can Kyle Busch continue on course of winning anytime, anyplace, in any car? Or has his light started to fade a little in the summer?
Does Carl Edwards have more back flips in him during the final stretch? Can Roush power carry him past the upstart JGR Toyotas?
Will Jimmie Johnson channel Cale Yarborough and take his third title in a row? Are he and Chad Knauss possibly the best driver/crew chief combination since Jeff Gordon/Ray Evernham from '95-'98?
Or will another driver step up now that the points race had been flattened out? Dale, Jr. is in the mix and looking consistent in his new digs at Hendrick Motorsports, RCR has three drivers in the mix, and four-time Champ Jeff Gordon was brilliant in averaging fifth-place through the Chase last year, only to fall short on his Drive for Five.
Bragging rights are on the line. Can you rub your crystal ball and predict not only who will win, but get all 12 right? (For good measure, let's throw in #13 for tiebreak number 1, and tell us how many races the champ will win in the chase for tiebreak number 2.)
Thanks for the input. Please publish your article directly to the site, and tag it with "Auto Racing", "NASCAR", and "Open Mic".

Don't worry, Patti schools important, study hard and a article here or their is fine. If I was in school now, it would be tough not being able have much time for B/R and miss out writing on the breaking topics or silly season stuff.
But keep track of the stuff that doesn't have a time limit on what you can write down the road, because you'll probably sit down and crank out a bunch of good stuff when you have the time.

Patti,
Glad to meet you and I loved editing your work.
Here is something to just give you a heads up, also, something that I had already discussed with a few women writers on this site such as Mary Jo and Kelly Crandall.
Just wanted to keep it confidential till we launch it, so please delete as soon as you read.
"The idea is to have a "Bleacher Women" page where all women can participate with in all probability Lisa Horne, you and Emily Fowler as the Comm. Leaders. Each women will specialize in her own domain and speak of issues that are relevant to women in sport, the bias, the feedback etc., and get them to talk about the real issues they face, not just about who is racing what and why.
How does that sound to you? This will be the only such sports site that addresses such issues in the sports arena. We will bring in sports medicine, psychologists, and the lot. Each of the writers of that domain will be specific reporters for that domain only, like you will be writing exclusively on stock car racing. Lisa Horne on College Football, etc., and the moderators or CLs are basically there to enroll sportspeople, and present the page in a better flavor.
Let us be a one-stop page for all women in sports - be it sportswomen, sports doctors, sport writers, sports fans - whoever, all women.
Thanks & Best Wishes,
Sarah

That's fine, knew school was starting again, plus with work and it's tough to fit in the time. I usually write my truck Update out in a notebook and then type it to publish it. Also will print stuff up, read through the stuff at work and then write a rough outline eating dinner.
I wrote a simple profile on Johnny Benson in one of my Updates. Was glad that I tried to keep it simple and about the current season. It would have been a much harder if I did a indepth profile that covers his career.
I usually have four or five ideas going at once, always have stuff that doesn't work and have a few Camping World East Series drivers that I want to write about. Have to rework a Austin Dillion article into the second installment of my the next Joey Lagano series and try to pay attention to this Series. Because it's loaded with talent, think CTS is just as good as Nationwide for the next step on the way to Sprint Cup.
Take care,
Mike

Going to be publishing my Craftsman Update tomorrow, have been trying to get a few other fans on here interested in writing Craftsman stuff, but haven't heard back from them and think Mike Voyer will be writng some driver profiles and will pass stuff off to him.
Take a look at it, add a few news areas, with it a off week not much is happening.
