Have attended and written about more than 150 NASCAR races, including at least one at every currently active Sprint Cup track in America (plus a few others where only Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series races are held). Also covered more than 1,000 NBA regular-season and playoff games, including seven All-Star Games, as well as more than 250 NFL games and seven Super Bowls. I've seen Kurt Busch smile and attempt to put on the charm, and I've been called some pretty dirty names by him as well. I've seen the best pro sports has to offer in consummate professionals like former NFL linebacker Sam Mills, NBA guys such as Steve Kerr and Brad Daugherty, and NASCAR superstars such as Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. I've also seen the worst sports have to offer and just about everything in between. I once covered the NBA game when Michael Jordan scored his career-high 69 points, after which Craig Ehlo of the Cavaliers commented, "Don't look at me. I only gave up 35 of those. That's about his average. Someone else gave up the rest."

Absolutely, Joe! Not something you come across every day.
I thought I knew your name from somewhere. That's pretty cool that you've cover other sports for that long too. Good to have you on B/R!
Didn't you used to write for NASCAR.com?
