Katrina's Bio

I hail from Rockingham, North Carolina. I'm currently a junior English major at UNC-Greensboro. I like football, drag racing, and baseball; but my passion is NASCAR. I've enjoyed writing since I was capable of holding a pencil in my fingers and have recently discovered through this website I can combine my passion for writing with my love for NASCAR.

  1. Thanks for the nice note Katrina. Sorry about your car.
Darlington is having a really special event this weekend, look it up and see if your interested. Take care, David

  2. Been in negotiations. Came across an empty restaurant in an art museum in Baltimore. It's beautiful and I'm hooked again.

Just like my dear friend Brett Favre I just can't say quit. Chef's are like that you know.

  3. You gotta stop that Kyle Busch hatin'. It only makes it worse ;o)

  4. good you're mobile. damn sorry 'bout the 'stang though. better it than you is all i can say. if you need anything, give one of us a shout.

  5. Yeah, I read some of your stuff and it seemed pretty good.

I have a Porsche 944 that I race in SCCA. I saw that you are from Rockingham, and there is an SCCA race there next weekend, but I don't think I can make that race.

  6. This will support some of the falloff.

“The 48 car in general is a little behind there. We didn’t participate in some of the test sessions last year, just staying focused on, you know, what we had going on at the time (the Chase). So, no one’s had this car on the big tracks yet. So I think these guys got off to a faster start on the bigger tracks. We’re now getting into the shorter tracks and we’ll have to see how Martinsville, Richmond, Phoenix goes to really compare apples to apples with where we were last year.” Jimmie Johnson 3/19/2008 Frisco, Texas

So, with that in mind, I ran the numbers comparing the 2007 and 2008 performances of the 24 and 48 cars at Martinsville, Phoenix, and Richmond.

    Start/Finish
    Car Year M’ville PIR RIR
    24 ’07 3 / 2 1 / 1 1 / 4
    24 ’08 1 / 2 11/13 28/9

    Change (positions)+2/0 -10/-12 -27/-5

    48 ’07 20 / 1 5 / 4 4 / 1
    48 ’08 10 / 4 7 / 1 12/30

    Change +10/-3 -2/+3 -8/-29

  7. Never declared war.

  8. I'm on your Fan List now Home Girl.

I have written an article once ... disputing a negative critique of Danica Patrick's viability as a Race Car Driver written by one of YOUR recent nemesis'. No , not that one.

It was a tad over the top but , in my defense, warranted. I had it deleted.

I am considering doing an Oriole piece after the All Star break though.

I'll be keeping up with you and your stories.

    Piedmont Rocks !

  9. you're quite welcome!! :)

  10. Hi there!! Welcome to the site, love the Rockingham story, thanks for becoming a fan of mine!!

  11. How predicable, I don't like what you say so go away.

A piece of advice, you're on the wild a woolly internet now not some cloistered little world such as facebook where "friends" gather and all pat themselves on the back.

Whether it be my pointing to the reality of the resurrection of Rockingham or someone else on a completely different subject you will be taken to task somewhere, somehow.

You call that comment "negative," your choice, but there wasn't anything contained in it not based on fact and it didn't offer opinion. You chose, wrongly, to classify as negative, for a single reason, because of a close association to that venue nothing more.

    Again, your choice.

  12. Katrina said - "I choose not to align myself with anyone unsavory. I seem to be fitting into another group quite nicely that seems to feature neither your nor your friend Joe Boxer.

I understand you have your own opinions, Mr. Boland, as do we all. It just seems you have little interest in accepting anything that doesn't come from your hand."

Well your first statement is decidedly untrue. You chose to side with someone (Joe Boxer) who posted a piece of conspiratorial garbage and when called on it admitted it was posted while drunk and should gave never been published. But his admission wasn't enough he then went on a childish display of name calling (after changing his name here) and trolling each and every article posted here. So, in summation, no he's not my "friend," and you did indeed align yourself with him as some type of affirmation of my "character" and did little to no research on anything more than a cursory look at any of the 89 comments posted to date. You found what you went looking for, someone that didn't "like me."

As for your second statement you claimed what I posted on your Rockingham article was untrue or somehow not fact based.

    I'll ask again, what part?

  13. We all have our moments... :-)

ooh! They've added racing questions to the Short List. I need to go update mine.

  14. Welcome to the crew, (Hurricane) Katrina! :-)

Good piece about The Rock. I'm glad Andy brought it back. They had a good ARCA race a few weeks back.

It's just the location that hoses the track. If NASCAR would move dates around (or let me make the schedule) I'd have a Cup race at The Rock every odd year (with one at Darlington), and two at Darlington on even years.
