Toby's Bio

Toby Christie specializes in analyzing NASCAR. He respects the sport, and has watched every race since he was five years old. He is what some could consider to be a NASCAR historian in the making. He would love to eventually be used in broadcasting of NASCAR races or on a NASCAR analyst show. If you have a show like this or you need someone to write NASCAR stories for you Toby Christie is the man for the job. He tries to be unbiased with his stories yet he always makes his opinion heard at the same time.

  1. Hey Toby,

I've started a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series community on B/R. I noticed you wrote a great article about the Rookies in the Series. Wanted to extend an invitation to you to join, take a look at my weekly Update, Race Recaps, started doing the poles and working on the history of the series.
But wanted to find a few others who share my passion for the Series. I'm also the community leader, on here a lot and just drop me a post.

    Appreciate it,
    Mike

  2. Toby, make sure if you pull info like that to quote your source. In the case of the Newman/Truex story, you're saying "Sources" when they're not your sources.

On the NASCAR.com data, you may want to embed a link in your piece to the piece on that site so people can see the data firsthand. Then write your article as an opinion piece based on that data.

This way you won't get tagged for plagiarism.

  3. Damn good writing.

  4. Yeah, I was about to come up out of my chair when that caution came out. I thought he was going to get robbed again. Wow, that's a bummer about being so young. I'll be turning 21 in January so I was somewhere right in the middle. I want to go to Whisky River (Junior's bar in NC) for that milestone. Thanks for becoming a fan by the way! Greatly appreciated!

  5. Toby, you may want to tighten up that photo of Bowyer's car so you can't see the nose of the one behind it.

  6. You're welcome.

  7. Toby, shoot me your email so I can forward the RCR Press Release to you about Cat.

If you want, modify your story with it. I'd rather just have one story breaking the news than several.

  8. Thank you for becoming a fan of mine :)

  9. How awesome was today? Junior finally got what he deserved and what he's been trying so hard for! I thought he was going to run out of gas with that first caution and then luckily under the green-white checker, he pulled it off. Class of '06 huh? I would have thought you were older than me. I always think I seem young when I see other people my age though.

  10. Thanks so much! I've always dabbled a little in journalism and thought this was pretty cool! Who doesn't love writing about what interests them? Go Jr.!!!!

  11. Hi Toby, I'm not working in firefox today so here's some editor's feedback.

Great article! I wrote a teaser, tweaked the headline, and edited for style. Make sure everything checks out to your liking!
