Rest In Peace, Big East? Not Yet.

College sports......there's still nothing like it. I know there have been incidents over the years involving student athletes, college boosters, and ill-gotten perks - but those are still the exceptions, not the rule. The vast majority of college players are still in it for the love of the game, not the potential paycheck. And can you beat the excitement and atmosphere of game day at your favorite University? I don't think so.
My father took me to my first College football game back in the early 70's, Princeton vs. Dartmouth at Palmer stadium. I've been hooked ever since. As an '87 grad of Rutgers, I bleed Scarlet (well, I guess we all do regardless of our University affiliation). Anyway, football was born on the Banks of the ol' Raritan, and I'm happy to say it's going better than ever some 140 years later.

DeleteNice "Crime and Punishment" article, Ed. I enjoyed your writing - and the cartoon! I'll pass this one of mine along, if you want to read it. It's getting dated with the more recent arrests.
