What's up everyone?! Welcome to the Jen Preston homepage on Bleacher Report- I'm so pumped to be here!! Born and raised a die-hard NASCAR fan just outside KCMO, that's basically what most of my columns will be about. However, I am known for being a HUGE Yankees, Broncos and WWE fan, so you might see me from time to time venture over to those pages as well.

I'm hoping writing here will only be the beginning- a proud member of the class of 2009, I hope to go on to college and get my degree in journalism and hopefully one day I'll be read around the nation talking about the latest news and rumors in the world of NASCAR. I'm sure being on the school paper and yearbook staff won't hurt either.

Other stuff about me- I LOVE alternative music, meeting new people, playing Grand Theft Auto and a bunch of other random things you'll just have to ask me about :) xXx

This is a telling line..."An interview with Scene Daily states that Sorenson doesn't want to have to qualify when teams arrive at Daytona next season."

You should consider a piece explaining why running a qualifying set-up on race day kills your run.

Not so much deeply technical but how those first two-three long pit-stops take forever to fix the car for looong runs.

Hey Jen,

Here's a great quote from Mr. Speed and NASCAR should maybe adopted it. "If I'm not learning anymore, I won't sit in Cup and make money. No way. I'll go do something else.

Been working on my Update, saw this and figured to share it. It's to good not to. I've started a Craftsman Truck Series community here on BR, if your interested feel free to contribute to it.
Looks like the Reed is a done deal, still have to announce if it's in the 10 or if it's in a fourth team.

Liked your Joe Gibbs Racing article. They showed on the Nationwide pre-race show, what they did with the magnets. Pretty stupid to think that it would go unnoticed by the NASCAR Inspectors.

With the extra $8 million freed up from Mark Martin leaving DEI, I can see Truex staying. I can see them pushing HARD to keep him. Think about it - if Truex leaves, DEI will not exist beyond 2009 in any meaningful way. The 01's already practically gone next season.

I could see DEI allowing Menard to move onto Yates, if Hard Rock does sponsor the 15, and Regan Smith would most likely drive that. I do feel that it's somewhat unlikely that Menard movies on though.

I'm still sticking by Stremme to the 12, Mears to the 33, Sorenson and Truex staying where they are, and Riggs to the 23.

Kyle said he's gonna drive the 45 for a couple more years, he's said. That'll give McCumbee a couple more years to hopefully drive while Kyle does commentary in the TNT booth.

As for UPS and Newman, I honestly think it's a long term mistake. I truly believe Newman is on the decline - at the very least, he's no longer a consistent Chase-caliber driver. I really think that he used up most of what he had in the tank during that 8-win 2003 season.

UPS gets a former Daytona 500 winner, sure, but that's what they had with Jarrett, and I don't remember them ever playing off that. Also, Newman's also sort of a loner in the first place - I really don't think he'd make as personable a pitchman as Reutimann. Newman would NOT take crap from millions of people asking him to race the truck. lol

It's true that Penske and the Mears family have connections, but I think Stremme's earned his shot more than Mears has this season. Mears will land on his feet though, no doubt - I'm still banking on the 33. General Mills is probably salivating over the possibility of a former Kellogg's driver breaking out in a Cheerios car.

What I'm interested in right now, is if Paul Menard and the Menards sponsorship head to a third Yates car like has been suggested, and what that would mean for DEI.

I don't buy any of the MWR stuff. I see no reason why UPS would leave Reutimann - a former UPS truck driver with a LOT of potential - or why McDowell would have fallen out of favor at MWR.

That Bob Margolis story about two drivers leaving MWR makes absolutely no sense to me. That'd leave MWR with its worst driver and one sponsor - a disaster for them. A disaster that I don't see Waltrip or business partner Rob Kauffman allowing to happen.

I'm calling that MWR and Penske remain unchanged for '09, except for Stremme in the 12 car to replace Newman, who'll go to Stewart-Haas. That's my guess anyway.

Why, do you think McDowell's out of the 00 car?

That's exactly why I never buy Dale Earnhardt merchandise. I refuse to support a woman who has evilly taken advantage of her marriage to advance herself in the world. That's not right. I don't care how much she loved Dale - if she truly loved him and supported his vision she would've sold.

Check out my race recap from Craftsman Race at Memphis. Think at some point, KHI will go Cup. But probably, down the road and could see them as a satellite to team for RCR. Regardless, he'll always be with RCR, have read and L.J. mentioned, he's a lifer their.

Yeah, I think Harvick's one of the best drivers of the past decade - both on the track and off it. Stepping up and implementing drug testing within his own organization was one of the boldest moves I think anyone's made in the sport in a long time, and he deserves a lot of respect for it. (Nevermind his on-track performance, the Daytona 500 win, the Atlanta win, the Busch titles...) Go 29 :)
