Nikki 's Bio

I'm a twenty-something on the down hill slope of being a twenty-something hailing from the states of confusion and Nebraska. Mostly from Nebraska though. I think this year is going to be the year for the Huskers! Well maybe not the year we go all the way but bringing back Bo and putting Dr. Tom in as the AD was a step in the right direction and I can't wait to see what happens this year!
Along with being a fan of the Husker Nation I'm also a fan of the Boston Red Sox, NASCAR, and thanks to Danica Patrick IRL racing. I happen to think John Stockton is the greatest point guard to ever lace up a pair of high tops and think Steve Nash is trying to follow in Stock's great foot steps and doing a fairly decent job at it too! I've found myself cheering for the Suns and Steve Nash for the last couple of seasons. (I hope John Stockton doesn't think I'm cheating on him! I mean I heard that Stockton had worked with Nash on somethings during the off season so that doesn't really count as far as cheating on my favorite point guard right?)
I also have a slight addiction to boy bands and am not shy in admitting this, I stood in line for New Kids on the Block Concert tickets and will be seeing them in November.
As well as being slightly crazy about boy bands I have a big music scope, I like everything from New Kids on the Block to Ozzy Osbourne and everything inbetween. I love cranking up P!nk and jamming out to her music and I love the mellow melodies of Chris Botti and Dave Koz. Plus I love listening to the musical genius that is Trent Reznor! I'm a little bit obsessive about musicals especially Wicked and Rent
I also love spending time with my family and friends. I especially love teaching my two young nieces about NASCAR to the dismay of my brother -in-law and sister. My proudest moment as an Aunt came when I took my nieces out shopping and my oldest niece said to me, "Aunt Nikki, that's Dale Jr! That's Yeah Jr!" Also after the 2008 Olympics my nieces both know that Michael Phelps is the coolest swimmer in the world. They are also educating me on exactly who in the world Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers are so we are all learning something new. They learn about sports and I get to learn about Disney stars :)

  8. Nearly wet your pants? Eh, not the reaction I was going for, I like the heart attack better...HAHAHA, glad you enjoyed the article.

  9. Hey Nikki, thanks for the nice note. David

  10. Nikki,

Make sure that all of your racing pieces carry the new 'auto racing' tag.

The tags have been re-shuffled and that one will be the front page tag from now on...I guess.

If you don't have time, lemme know and I'll help you with it.

  11. I'm sooo tired of the NASCAR/athlete thing.

RE: the Phelps piece...the content was bizarre and...just plain bizarre, but as an 'open letter' format piece you have to admit it was really well executed.

If Thomas could get past his anger issues and find the right prescription he would be a star.

  12. Nikki, thanks for the comment on "The Nicknames" article. I'm a believer in Nebraska's future under Pellini. You stop by again, I'll be pushing that Cornhusker Kool Aid this fall.

  13. You like that idea of a catfight? Would be interesting... :-)

  14. Welcome, Nikki! I hope you'll step your toe in the water and write an article or two. It's great to see the NASCAR fan community growing here on Bleacher Report!
