  3. Hey Danny,

    Hey,

After the overwhelming success of the inaugural “round table” discussion in the World Football Community, we plan to move one step further.

This time round the discussion will be based on the following topic:

“Who do you think will win the Euro 2008 Championship and why?”

If you want to take part, then please write 50-100 words answering that question and send it to worldfootball@post.com
Kindly send in your answers latest by Tuesday ( 17 June 2008) and they will be published in an article on BR.
    Regards,
    SS

  4. I'll be glad too,thanks for contributing

  5. Hey Danny,

I've decided to do a 'Round Table' column in the World Football community, inspired by Michael Whittenberg's examples in the NBA section and Jon Naylor in the Cricket section. What this basically comprises of is making a collaborative article from many different writers about a particular subject.

The headline I want to use is:

'If you wanted your club to buy a certain player, who would it be and why?'.

I want to get a global perspective and hopefully build a really good discussion.Of course, this does not relate only to the English Premier League which means your favourite club could be anywhere in the world (preferably it should be in one of the more known European countries) so even if you support Bayern Munich,AS Roma,Newcastle,Southampton,Arsenal,Sevilla,Barcelona,Lyon or CSKA Moscow, feel free to write in.

If you want to take part, then please write 50-100 words answering that question and send it to salaar_doit@hotmail.com.
I'll collate the quickest entrants and publish an article on BR.

    Regards,
    SS

  6. Hi Danny,
Didn't get your email. Could you send it again please?
    Thanks for contributing,

    Jon

  7. Brilliant idea Danny, sorry about the delay in the reply.

I hope to write something soon mate, will keep you updated.

  8. Hi Danny,
Having been CL of the cricket section for a little while now, I'm looking for new ways to get people talking and build the community, hopefully making cricket one of the more popular sports on Bleacher Report.

With that in mind, I've decided to do a 'Round Table' column, based on Michael Whittenberg's examples in the NBA section. What this basically comprises of is making a collaborative article from many different writers about a particular subject.

The headline I want to use is:

'If you could have any player from another country in your national team, who would it be and why?'.

I want to get a global perspective and hopefully build a really good discussion.

If you want to take part, then please write 50-100 words answering that question and send it to bleacherrportcricket@gmail.com. I'll collate the quickest entrants and publish an article on BR.

Thanks a lot and hope to hear from you soon,

    Jon

  9. Thanks for your help Danny and the pic of Vettel.

I sadly, seem to be having a tough time loading images.

    Bests,
    Sarah

  10. Hi Danny,
I appreciate your concerns and totally understand you wanting to improve the quality of the section - it's something I'm striving for myself.

I don't know how the articles get prominence on the front page - I think it's something to do with the star ratings that editors give them. I do look over almost every article myself so I try to keep the standard of writing up, even if I can't control the content.

I really like your writing and think you can bring a lot to the section - your work definitely doesn't go unnoticed by me at least! You definitely have great ability and a good insight into the game.

The cricket section is very new and only just taking off, so at the moment I'm trying to focus on getting the name around with plenty of writers, before becoming more selective once a good base is achieved.

The standard of writing should improve as a result of more experience - like I say, it's a new section with a lot of new writers.

I hope it doesn't put you off writing as I value your contributions greatly and see you as a key player in the progression of the section.

Hopefully, with a core of really talented, passionate writers we can make the cricket section a force to be reckoned with.

Thanks for raising your concerns and I hope I've allayed some fears.

    Keep writing,

    Jon

  11. Danny,

Our Community Director Zander Freund is the man to talk to about getting an ICC link in the top menu bar. My instinct is that we'd probably want to let the cricket community get a little bigger before we push it out onto the big stage...but Zander will be able to give you a firmer answer.

Thanks again for all you hard work, and keep me posted if there's anything I can do to help.

    Best,

    Ryan

  12. Dont mind that 'Red Girl' on your Gerrard piece. Thought it was a brilliant article. You made some really good points while still getting a passion for Liverpool across without being biased.

Keep up the good work and tell Red Girl to go play with Barbies.

  13. Thanks for the kind words, I'll definitely check out your articles.

  14. Glad you're digging the site, Danny.

About footnotes: We won't be able to add a special footnote functionality anytime soon, because our development team is pretty well worked to the bone at the moment...but you should feel free to manually add footnotes on your own by using parenthetical numbers (1) and referencing them at the bottom of the article.

    (1) Like this.

As for the cricket page: It looks great...and I can assure you that the whole B/R community is all for it. (I've already had several Americans/non-cricket fans mention it to me.) Keep up the good work, and please don't hesitate to let me know if I can be of any assistance down the road.

    Thanks for sharing your work,

    Ryan

  15. No problem,Danny

    Keep it up,
    SS
