About

Legend has it that my father abandoned my mother during labour to watch a rarely televised Arsenal game. Clearly choosing between witnessing my birth and watching Arsenal play was a dilemma for the old man, but if it’s any consolation, I got hooked on Arsenal.

Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

A few years ago, I missed a connecting flight at Frankfurt airport and was re-routed through 3 different countries to get me to my destination 48 hours after I put my suitcase into a taxi on my way to the airport. I had to pass the time so I decided to write a travelog about the shenanigans of my comical journey, and the few people who read it were convinced I should give up my day job and become a writer instead.

My wife also got fed up of my constant moaning about the quality of sports journalism and the diatribe being spewed out there masked as headline sports news and opinion. She couldn’t have been more blunt in convincing me that I should either do something about it and write my own articles, or it was marriage counselling.

Fat choice I had there - So here we are.

    Hey Darius,
I am a featured illustrator/designer for major sports brands like ESPN, CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated. I also work directly with professional teams, I am the exclusive digital illustrator for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, I have worked on a variety of digital and merchandise products for The New York Red Bulls and my artwork has been on the cover of the Phoenix Suns Free Throw Magazine. In addition I work with professional athletes organizations like J.R. Smith's Reach Anonymous and sports agents like Hazan Sports Management.

My work has been written about in the Boston Globe, Washington Post, Fox Sports and in many other sports media outlets. Recently I worked on editorial illustrations for Fansided and Cover 32. I would love to have an opportunity to create some designs and illustrations for Bleacher Report as well if you are interested. You can see my work on my website elliotgerard.com or my Instagram account @elliotgerard.

Thanks for you time and consideration and I look forward to talking further with you.

    Hey Darius,

The Roma machine roars on as they extend their unbeaten run to 17 matches, retaining the UWCC in the process, but this presents an even bigger question: Can they challenge Inter Milan for the Serie A title?

On this form, who says they can't?

Their most recent match against Siena was another great match, with two genuinely world class goals, one of which came in the last minute!

Also, find out where the title would be now if Manchester United had beaten Chelsea in the Community Shield, and in another brand new feature find out where the title was exactly a year ago today!
