Things To Watch In Daytona

I am 17 and I am a huge NASCAR fan. I am on the Newspaper Staff @ Wekiva High School in Apopka, Fl. I have been going to NASCAR races since I was 5 (1997) and was able to spend teh 50th Daytona 500 right behind Dale Jr's Pit Box. As a senior in High School I had to decide what I wanted to do for a living, so I made my desicion when I was ready. Actually, my decision was made when I was 12, and on October 28th, I was accepted into the NASCAR Technical Institiute in Mooresville, N.C. It is the only school sponsered by NASCAR. I will be going there to learn the ins and outs of a Sprint Cup car and hope to one day be a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Crew Cheif...We'll see what happens...

This might be the most interesting article I've written to date. Did you know that from 1960 to 1969 the NFL held a "Playoff Bowl" pinning the runners-up from each Conference in a game to determine the 3rd place team of the NFL?

Not sure why, but the picture I put on the story disappeared, I've had problems with my articles doing that when I upload them from my work computer... You may want to just pick one of the Getty Images from the choices... either one of Jimmie Johnson or one of the Florida Gators...

Nah, I'm just playin', I'm a member of NASCAR Media (NASCARMedia.com). You have to apply for access and prove that you cover NASCAR for a publication. Once they have proof that you do, in fact, cover the sport, you are given a login and password to get press releases and such.
It comes in handy, you just gotta be quicker than those around you! That's the name of the game in reporting anyway!
What paper do you work at? I work at a tri-weekly in Galax, VA (galaxgazette.com). It's a paper of 9500 circulation (give or take some). And it's where I got started, and hope to move up to a NASCAR publication one day.

James there have been major changes to the voting categories because there have been somewhere between 10-15 added due to suggestions, so when you get a chance, go back through and cast votes for all the new categories and don't skip over the "most overrated driver" because that's thrown in the middle
