I graduated from UW-Madison's Journalism School in 2000.
The sporting world is imperfect like any other facet of society. Politics and money come into play, players get injured or released and are forgotten about like yesterday's trash. The sports media is an even mix of common- sense writers and sensationalists.
In my writing, I like to have an even mix of analysis and story line. Individual players and dynamic teams create the most interest in sports - we are inspired by their accomplishments.
And spontaneous, awe inspiring moments happen every season.
That's what makes sports writing fun for me - commenting on those special moments and players.
