I'm an aspiring writer, both creatively and analytically, with an abundance of passion and knowledge for the MMA world. I'm 27, living in Chicago, so yes I'm still waiting for the Cubs to break the curse. I grew up as a Steelers fan (still, even after this year) simply because my dad was mesmerized by the "Immaculate Reception" when he was eight and has been a fan ever since.

I'm hoping to branch out and network with other writers. My ultimate goal is to have my work read by as many people as possible and, god forbid, make an adequate living doing something I enjoy. At the very least, I'm looking forward to learning from others and expanding my potential in the highly competitive world of journalism.

    Great stuff Joe. Really interesting piece that was fun to read. I enjoyed all the references to leiderhosen and steins. Germany has easily been the most impressive team so far and the world has been falling in love with soccer's former bete-noir over the past four years. Still not sure the defense is strong enough though, and World Cup winners rarely sparkle from the off.
