Bob's Bio
I am a lifelong Chicagoan who roots for the Chicago sports teams, not surprisingly, and the Cubs in particular. I am a sports fan in general, but I gravitate toward all things baseball, and as a Cubs fan, am no stranger to suffering. I like to write, so look for some thoughts from me in the near future.
I love hot stove league, and enjoy talking baseball 365 days a year (I take the extra day off during leap years).

I disagree. The ERA of a reliever does matter. It just tells a different story is all. A starter's ERA gives an idea of how many runs may be given up throughout the course of the game. The reliever's ERA can tell about how many appearances he will go without giving up a run or two. For example, Carlos Marmol, a pitcher who I've like since last year, has an ERA of 1.13, so it can be assume that he will give up runs one in every nine appearances at this rate (assuming the appearance lasts one inning), while Wood, with an ERA of 3.79 will give up runs every 2-3 appearances.
As for Maddux, I'd love it if he came back. was pretty upset that he was let go in the first place. The Cubs organization makes trades that I don't agree with like it's a hobby.

Hey Bob,
Not a huge fan of the most recent article, but if it's true (as it seems to now be), it would have eventually come to light eventually. Your previous articles, though, excellent form and points; if only I had the same editorial-type mindset, I think I might rival you someday :-P It's refreshing to see a somewhat similarly realistic Cubs fan somewhere in the world.
So far as your commentary on my first article, it's very much appreciated...I was figuring on getting blasted completely on it, but, it seems the populace here doesn't seem to be quite as bad as the rest of the internet--it's nice for an aspiring writer to get constructive criticism, rather than a shutdown, especially from the top of the ladder.

Hey Bob,
No hard feelings. I understand why one would write an article such as the one you did. Just trying to be a devil's advocate you know. Stir the pot a little.

There has been a lot of negative sentiment about the Cubs and Chicago written this week. What gives?

Hello Bob,
My name is Jimmy and I'm just introducing myself after the e-mail from Trey. I'm a HUGE Cub fan and I love to talk about the Cubbies. Unfortunately, I live in a Reds fan area and I don't get to talk to true, die-hards much. I'm looking forward to sharing a few articles about the Cubs
Thanks, Jimmy
