Iowa's Keys to a Successful Second Half of the Season

I'm a life-long sports fan that loves the drama that unfolds with every contest. I've written about college football, and NASCAR for Bleacher Report, but also follow the NFL and loosely pay attention to most other sports. My work has been syndicated in many outlets and I hope to see that list increase over time. Mostly, I just love writing about what I see, hear and think in regards to sports.
I recently turned 40, am a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), a former volunteer firefighter, a former volunteer EMT and an all-around lazy bones. I have a 15 year-old son who plays football and runs track. He is the light of my life and my inspiration.
I work full-time in the textile industry, but writing is and always will be my greatest passion.
Thanks so much for your support, Stix.
You're welcome Stix!
Hey, buddy! As you know, we're not always going to agree & I think that makes a friendship kind of interesting. Wouldn't it get boring if we DID all agree? I think so. Anyway, GO HAWKS! I see there's a darn game delay, hopefully because of lightning or tornado activity somewhere near [don't really wish that on anyone] because I know we used to play in some quite nasty weather. I remember my knuckles, cracked & bleeding when it got really cold & there was snow or ice on the field-----about 100 years ago! LOL! Take care & GO HAWKEYES!
Any time, Stix!
You're welcome, Stix! However, much credit is to be given to your work which makes my job really easy. Keep up the great work!
You're welcome, Stix!
While 7-5 is not what any hawk fan wants the losses to ISU and Minnesota arent that shocking, a young Iowa team in a hugely emotional away game is a trap for any program. I think the offense needs an overhaul in the spring not just trying to implement a new plan during the season like we attempted this year with a hurry up style. Can we do that with O'Keefe leading that side of the ball or is a new OC our only hope?
Man, I was gonna chastise you for letting me take all the heat on your Floyd / Luck piece, but noticing that you "took the heat" for myself during the Iraq War, I guess we'll call it even...
Way to kill it on the Trent Richardson Heisman piece.
Thanks a lot, Stix!
