My draft picks are exclusively mine - in hopes of the Browns drafting them. It doesn't usually go my way, but I am 100% happy when those draft picks become successful on other teams and prove myself worthy in selecting talent - regardless where they become successful.

Something to consider: A couple of days ago, Roger Goodell met privately with Jimmy Haslam. Some "unnamed sources" from inside the NFL office said that if the FBI charges stand - Haslam will have to sell the Browns. I wonder how - if at all - that may have affected draft decisions. With the huge uncertainties looming large - were the Browns told by Haslam to stay put and not get crazy...maybe the league said as much? Maybe I'm just over-thinking this too much. Any movements haven't happened...it is eerily quiet in Berea - and their comment after Day 1 was odd.

Well, I just read your response to Daymon so I’ve answered my own question. I guess now there’s nothing to do but wait and see and hope…nervously.

I believe I am far less informed at the level of detail you appear to possess about all things Browns but I will do my best.

“How many successful drafts has Joe Banner over-seen?”

I don’t think his involvement has ever been a matter of public record. Based on what I can surmise, I’m not sure Banner has ever “over seen” any draft. He was responsible for the business side of operations which included negotiating player contracts once the player was on board or being acquired. I do not think his previous role involved him overseeing draft activities or even being directly involved in the actual selection process. I do believe he had a voice in the evaluations but not actual hands-on involvement in the selection process. I think that was something he wanted a bigger subsequent role in following Philly but I’m not sure what that exactly looks like now. He appears to me to be an astute football ‘business’ CEO and is savvy enough to hire experts to execute those roles and leave them alone to do what he hired them to do. I think he will be involved as the overseer, grand poobah sort but will leave ultimate football decisions to ultimate football minds. Perhaps at worst (best?) he will serve as a kind of tie-breaker if such a need should arise.

“How many quarterbacks has Banner drafted?”

Per my perception(s) above I would say zero. Again, I think he was involved in the discussions of McNabb, Feeley, Detmer, McMahon, Garcia, Young, Kolb and Foles (I realize these aren’t all draftees) but I don’t think he was a ‘chooser.’

“How many successful drafts has Mike Lombardi had?”

Here, again, other than Oakland he’s never been a GM tasked with final say on selecting the players and it is unclear as to just who chose what under Al Davis.

“How many successful quarterbacks has Lombardi drafted over the years?”

    Same answer as above

    “How about Chudzinski?”

Zero; like the others he’s never been the ‘chooser.’ As a coordinator my guess is he had input but never final say on any selections.

Not sure if this was the direction you had in mind. If I’ve misunderstood the spirit of your query let me know in what way and I will approach it anew.

Mark, are you now unable to send PM's to me (hence the board post)? I can't find the function to allow me to send you a PM.

Hey M, Don't know what happened but after reading the message you sent it has disappeared. Also, I'm suffering from extreme brain lock and can't figure out how to send you a PM. Feel free to advise.
