KP Wee is a baseball and hockey fan who enjoys watching and discussing sports memories and issues with everyone willing to listen. Wee's long-term goal is to publish a book or two in the next couple of years, which has already been accomplished in 2007 (see below for comments).

Also: SHORT STORY SET TO BE PUBLISHED JUNE 2008; CONTRACT ALREADY SIGNED WITH BOOK PUBLISHER JANUARY '08. I don't usually brag about myself as writing is really just a matter of self-fulfillment/personal satisfaction, but since a lot of anonymous people wonder.... well, there's your answer. And no, I don't care one bit if any naysayers read it or what they have to say.

In late February 2008, I came under heavy fire from Vancouver fans because they didn't like my comments about the Canucks. Some trashed me for my personal writing goals. Well, I would now like to announce that BACK in 2007, I had already self-published three books and they were not epic failures. My three books were dedicated for my friends, amongst them Rick, Cliff, Ian, and Candace, and they all were touched and are appreciative of my "gifts." So, no, those books were not failures but they actually accomplished their original goals. I personally do not care if I sell X number of books as a true writer writes and dedicates the works to those that truly matter, his/her friends and associates.

I am not ashamed of who I am and don't need to prove anything to anyone out there. I am a people-person and I appreciate my friends, and folks who know me can attest to that. For those I have left out earlier, namely John House, Trout, and others, I still appreciate your readership and the fun times with our sports debates too. I, however, have no time for racists such as Andrew Claxton and his cohorts and anyone that sees the need to personally attack me. So those of you like that, don't matter to me.

Finally, I do want to thank the creators/founders of Bleacher Report--Dave Finocchio, Bryan Goldberg, Zander Freund, and Dave Nemetz, four friends in Silicon Valley who had their own dream and chased it.

Thank you for creating this online community where the true fans can come out and write and comment on what they enjoy.

As for my 2007 books, they have been listed just to prove that I've accomplished it--and once again, I don't need anyone's approval.

The Short List facts and information about KP Wee

All Time Sports Moment

1992 Adams Division Finals - Andy Moog shut out Patrick Roy's Montreal Canadiens, and the Bruins added an empty-netter in the final minute as Boston won 2-0 to sweep the Canadiens out of the playoffs. 1991 Adams Division Finals - Cam Neely's long shot eluded Roy in the third period and Moog was sensational as the Bruins finally eliminated the Canadiens in Game Seven.

  1. Nice -- those of us too young to remember appreciate clearing that up.

  2. And I hope your dislike of him is NOT racial related.

  3. Let's wait and see.

  4. I know, even I am having a tough time trying to defend them. Hell, I left with a few minutes left in the third period of game two because I was that disgusted. We'll see how they'll do tonight, after game one I said they'd play a hell of a lot better than game one and I turned out to be wrong. We shall see if I'm going to have to move to a place with no ice hockey so I can go into exile.

  5. Hey, we both know I don't expect things from pitchers over 40! haha...as for the Padres, they need to score more than one run in nine innings....As much as this is this was Hoffy's fault, the offense isn't far behind because they're terrible, there have been 14 games in which they've scored 3 or fewer runs, and the difference between this year and years past, is that they're losing a majority of those games. I think I'm just going to bide my time until the CFL season starts....

  6. I chose to do a Turco article after last nights game when i saw him interviewed and how humble he was really got me. Ive always liked Turk since I'm also a Stars fan but i dont think he gets the recognition he should.

  7. Oh and the book question was a serious question last time (I already forget what you posted on my profile, other than people bashing you for it). It's good to see people getting their own literature out there. Just another bit of hope for me to one day write Wes Welker's autobiography!

  8. I'm a guru? Jeeze...where do people come up with this stuff?

But no, you already know I agree with the stats thing and I was just giving you a hard time haha, as far as tinkering with your style and showing people what you've got, it's hard for me to say because aside from BR I'm not "out in the industry".

There are two things I can say though, and one is that if you find an editor commenting like that, go to them and say "It's all super-duper that I'm nice, but is there anywhere I can improve on?". They're the ones that've taken an in-depth interest in your piece, and they might pick up on subtle nuances that I as a reader might miss. I've read your stuff and in my opinion it's really tightened up since you joined here (in comparison with your early work), but although you'll feel kind of like a bother, check in with the editors and talk shop about your writing just to see where they think you should go with it. Whether you agree or disagree, it'll at least give you something to think about and if you agree you can change it, and if you disagree it'll give you something to keep you more alert as you watch to make sure that doesn't happen (which could also help your writing I guess—If you don't want something to sound a certain way, then you'll pay more attention to the wording to ensure it sounds the way that you want it...if that makes any sense at all).

The second is, to just keep writing and no accept 'no' as an answer. There are professions out there (TV Broadcasting is one of them....I'm so happy I'm paying for college!) that you're going to be faced with a lot of rejection—I look at writing as one of them, and not just from a "readership reaction standpoint".

Again, start circulating your stuff to places you might be interested in working for. The worst thing that they can tell you is "we don't want to hire you". Does it hurt? Sure it does. But it'll also motivate you, and again, there's nothing wrong in asking them what they're looking for in a writer to see if you can tailor your style more towards what they're looking for I guess.

    Yours Truly,

    Ann Landers

....wait a second...that's not right at all....Anyhow man, try that and see how it works for you. I'm no Mike Myers (Love Guru) by far, but I do what I can and I try and keep an eye out for my NHL'ers on here! (Nice with the Bruins....they couldn't possibly do it could they?!)

  9. Ps. How's the book business?

  10. Frankly, they need a fire lit under them...they look dazed almost...it's strange AND frustrating. I'd still feel better if Johnson was still here, and if Gibby were to get fired, but hopefully they can turn it around. Either that or I become a Bruins fan! haha

Ps. Thanks for telling Sean I believe in the use of stats in an article (I'm not mad or anything...it was just really random to scroll down to at nine am this morning when I went to post on his board! haha)

  11. Hey KP, i was wondering if you would check out some of my articles and let me know what you think. I am considering changing my major to go after writing about hockey as a career but i have yet to decide. Regardless i am up for becoming a writer. So Bless me with all the knowledge you have to give.

  12. I put up my Bruins article. It turned into an extremely long rant. Tried to explain my position on the Bs, why I don't actively root for them anymore, etc.

Let me know what you think.

Definitely going to re-write that NHL column if I post it here.... gotta get the TV ratings into the article.

    -Sean

  13. Hey, thanks for the invite.

I am going to try to put together a Bruins piece over the next few days. Kind of an explanation of where I am with the Bruins.

Not sure I would repost the Why the NHL is Dead article here. It didn't seem to get the reaction I was looking for (which was a discussion of what the NHL can do to save itself on a National level).

I might re-write it differently and post it here around Stanley Cup time.

Check out some of the comments at the bottom of that one. What did you think? Should I have overloaded it with facts (like the NBC ratings) or just kept it to opinion like I did?

    -Sean

  14. Hey, actually I probably won't finish until tomorrow (I've been ill) so I will bear those guys in mind. Thanks!

Yeah, that's the 2004 "Phantom goal" as we like to call it. Unbelievable... that's what is great and terrible about hockey; we share a lot of pain. The very next year (post-lockout, of course) the NHL seemed to review EVERY goal, not just contentious ones. What happened that it wasn't even checked in 2004?

Anyway, I'm hoping the heart of the Bruins can give the Habs a real run coming up.
    Should be a good double-header.

  15. Well now I feel bad. I really have absolutely no problem with people being critical of the Canucks...because, I know, there is a lot to critisize. I just really dont like being classed with the idiot fans out there(and I know there are a few) because we are not all like that. Most of my friends and fans that I hang out with are really good people. We are hockey enthuisiasts who were raised watching the Nucks. But we also cheer for all of the other Canadian teams. I do have one friend, though, that does hate Toronto for reasons unknown but he is not a jerk about it.
As for those polls, Id say thats pretty acurate. Half of me thinks its a really good move, the other half isnt to sure lol. But to be honest, I was quite surprised to hear of the firing. I thought he would be given one more shot at it. We will see. Its all up to who they sign and what happens in the offseason. I would be happy if they were to pick up Quinn, and even give Tambellini the nod.
I know you are a big Bruins fan, think they can make a comeback? Thomas is certainly turning some heads, thats for sure. He has played just as good or better than the rookie two hundred feet away.
What are your thoughts on Calgary? Are you hoping for them as they started the series as an underdog. I am hoping Calgary wins in seven and then makes another charge for the cup. I am also really hoping for a Habs vs. Flames final...that would be peachy...and sure would piss Bettman off! =)
