A long-time Missouri resident, Derek is a long-standing (and at times, long-suffering) Chiefs fan. And despite the ups and downs of cheering for Kansas City, Derek's fanaticism has only increased over the years.

Usually situations like this involve intense counseling and a 12-step program. Instead, Derek found an outlet for his obsession with BleacherReport.com. A writer for Bleacher Report since December 2009, Derek recently returned as a Featured Columnist following a year hiatus while serving in East Africa with the Army Reserves.

Derek spends his Sunday afternoons yelling at the red and gold-clad players on the TV with his wife Sarah, two dogs and 1-year old son Caleb (Caleb's the good-looking one in the profile picture).

Yes, the dogs yell, too. Or at least they bark loudly at all the jumping up and down and shouting.

Derek is also an Iraq War veteran currently living in Mid-Missouri.
