Kiprusoff: Jim Carey Syndrome
12/05/2008
I have been watching hockey for as long as I can remember and probably even farther back then that!
I grew up in Calgary, AB home of the Flames, Hitmen, and a zillion lower end junior level teams. Although my favourite NHL team is the Penguins (yes even before Crosby, back when they only had Lemieux). I currently reside in Montreal, QC so I get to see a ton of Canadiens' game and aura shoved down my gullet, but I am more a fan of the game then any particular team or player. I love to watch any game, no matter who is playing! I watch for individual plays of greatness, I watch for calls and missed calls alike. I watch to see who is more adapted for what style of game, and see how the coaches use him in that aspect. I have read the NHL rule book from cover to cover, and refresh myself as new additions are added, and rules are removed or modified for better or for worse. I watch for trends in trades, and love to watch junior hockey for a first look at future talent.
I hate the instigator rule, checks from behind, and players who turn away from a hit and get planted head first into the boards! I hate how playoff hockey is reffed differently then regular season hockey, and the shootout is not the greatest but I can live with it!
Hey there,
Just wanted to drop a shout-out to a fellow fan and former Calgarian. It sounds like we have the same hockey philosophy... I always say I am a hockey fan first and foremost, and after that starts a list of team names. Anyway, I will be checking your stuff out... it looks good!
Take care, and enjoy your Penguins run at the Cup!

Hey Jason,
I just wanted to let you know that Bleacher Report has launched out of beta with an updated look and feel and some great new features. Check out the "Game On" link in the header to find out more.
Next week we'll be launching the site to the world with some public announcements—and it'd be great to get a contribution from you between now and Tuesday to make Bleacher Report's launch a success.

DeleteHey Jason—Jeff here, a Bleacher Report Community Coordinator.
I've been spending time on our Flames page and read a couple of your old articles. Really on-point analysis...you do good work.
Given that you haven't written in a while, I thought I'd check in and see if you're interested in picking up your coverage again. What do you say?
If not, it would be great if you could give me some feedback on why you decided to stop writing and what we could have done to better serve you. If you wouldn't mind, please shoot me a line at jeff@bleacherreport.com with any thoughts.
Thanks so much,
Jeff
