Adam Lawrence is a twenty year old student attending Occidental College. He plays golf for Oxy and loves basketball and football. Adam: Wanted to add a little note for you. Best wishes for a great college career, on and off the course. The golf coach here at the University of Tampa has been a great friend of mine for more than 35 years. Love to see the young college guys out there. I tell them that these are the best days of their lives.
Same for you. These college years will absolutely be the BEST of your life. Get after it each and every day with all you've got. Have enthusiasm for golf, school and life and you will have a great life. Cherish and protect you health to the best of your ability. Appreciate all those around you.
Family and friends are life's greatest assets.
So is health.
I will look forward to following your career.

Adam: Thanks for the comments on my story. Read your piece on Jack vs. Tiger. Nice. I can tell you that I know Jack personally, have spent time at his home and a lot of time with Jack II. Jack grew up pretty well off in Columbus. His dad owned three pharmacies. That was pretty much upper-middle back in the day.
Jack played a lot of different sports, as you well know. Tiger played golf and only golf.
Big difference. Tiger was a muny kid, Jack was a country club kid.
I was fortunate to cover many of Jack's major wins. Wish you could have seen his 63 at Baltusrol. He missed a 3 1/2 footer on the last hole for 62 but it was a downhill, left-to-right slider. Could have run it seven feet by and didn't want to turn 63 into 64.
Soon, Tiger will be living about 10 miles from Jack's house when Tiger moves to his new "compound" on Jupiter Island. I'm over there often so perhaps we'll see him somewhere. You see Barbara Nicklaus out and about but the best place to catch Jack is at an athletic event that one of his grandchildren is playing in.
Thanks again and keep me posted on your life's path!

Hey Adam,
I wrote a follow-up to that article comparing Kobe to Scottie Pippen, and I thought you might be interested... this time I'm comparing him to Clyde Drexler. I'd love your thoughts... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/189936-kobe-isnt-mj-but-hes-at-least-clyde-drexler
