Been a Cleveland Brown fan since I came out of the womb on July 27, 1975 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio! Period!
Really, I don't mean to come across in a rude or degrading fashion. Perhaps my responses are saturated more with frustrations at most fans and writers, who seem to just be so freakin' down. I understand people are tired of losing, and I am too, but, keeping things in perspective - this team is heading in the right direction.
It falls in line with the common phrase - Can't see the forest because of the trees.
I will defend the Browns, and others may too, such as yourself but we just do so in different ways. However, I still can't figure out why there was such high expectations of the Browns this year, seems more so than in the past 12 seasons. This management team had to strip everything down to the dirt foundation, from the top on down due to previous regimes and their failures and bad decisions, including Mangini - who, if you do some homework on the guy - wasn't real good and was a zit on the ass of Berea...I mean, just look what he did to his own personal friend, George Kokinis..and there were others who complained about Mangini in Berea.
Anyway, I do respect your opinions and have nothing against you at all.
I look at the whole situation differently than most, and it is not that I am accepting of the losses and bad play or have accepted being a loser - I just understand there is a process, and that process is going to take time to flourish. For the first time in a very long time, the Browns have a system in place and are providing the stability needed to sustain long-term success - just Pitt and New England has done. People forget that before Pitt & New England had become perennial powerhouses, they too had to install their systems before it took root. Those two teams have what the Browns have been devoid of, yet are bringing to the Browns now - stability and a system. I see it, and wish others did also.
Nonetheless, I hope we can put this in the past and be friends, Duan.
Hey Duan, sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. I have been terribly busy covering training camp stories for Rant Sports. I actually like your idea of a Tebow debate for this team, but it doesn't look like he is going anywhere as of now. I will write up an article about it and save it in my drafts in case talk of releasing him gets back into the media. Thanks a lot for the lead, I always appreciate the opinions of my peers.
Have a good one and thanks again,
