My name is Dan Pearce. I am soon to be a senior at Huntley High School in Huntley, Illinois where I am a member of The Voice, HHS's award winning newspaper, where I am the Opinion Editor there. I am a huge sports fan also. I used to play basketball, football, volleyball, ran track, and swam competitively. Now, I focus on my writing. I'm a White Sox fan. I've always loved their style of play. Ozzie Guillen is a genius who doesn't get the credit that he rightfully deserves. I'm into all Chicago sports. Except for the Cubs, I hate the Cubs. They don't deserve to call themselves a Chicago team. Anyways, I'm also a huge Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan. The Bears worry me because of Rex Grossman, because of the lack of offensive linemen, and Cedric Benson is a bum. The Bulls are a little less worriable but still worried because the first pick of the draft does not guarentee an automatic turnaround, plus the surplus of guards in the backcourt and the head coach vacancy both need to be addressed. The Blackhawks are an up-and-coming team coming off an exciting season. With young players like Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, this team looks to compete next year and bring the NHL back to the forefront of the sports world. I'm also a fan of college sports. For college football, I like the U. Miami is a pro school. Plain and simple. For college basketball, I like NC and UCLA. Classy programs with tradition. As far as Huntley sports, we have an upcoming school year in 08-09 that should contend for an FVC championship.
