Do not confuse witty banter with criticism—there is no sarcasm font on my keyboard as of yet, but I'm working on it.
Your article rebutting Trent Dilfer made little sense. Dilfer's comments were in support of Landry Jones; they weren't critical of him. The OU receiving corps was less talented last year than in previous years, and many OU fans were frustrated with the play calling. I'm a lifetime OU fan but have admit that recruiting at OU has fallen off in the last several years. Part of the problem may be the high turnover of assistant coaches at OU because other team hires the best coaches away. That is a tribute to Stoops, but it also means that he is continually breaking in new talent in key coaching spots and undermines recruiting.
Lisa have you heard the out come of the PROP meeting on the sixth? Did they pass any of the proposed rule changes?
I always look at the profiles of writers who write negatively about Oregon. They are always from the SEC or So. Cal as you are. I actually think it's great that foriegn writers want to minimize of dismiss Oregon. I know Oregon has Kay Jennings pumping us up constantly maybe it's just women writer write what they wish not what is fact. Too emotional imho.
Lisa,
Why was your "satirical look" at El Paso's tourist attractions removed from Bleacher Report so soon after it was posted?
You're a "lead writer" and you don't know how to spell Bud Wilkinson's last name correctly? Who is Bud Wilkerson anyway? Facts equal credibility.
Loved your article on the 4-team playoff...couldn't agree more. There needs to be 8 teams.
I used to argue that 6 spots would go to conference champions, but that can only happen if there are super-conferences consisting of 16 teams each. At this point, only the top 8 qualifying will do.
I think there are more people who think like us than the BCS will admit to at this point. I'm not putting up the white flag yet...with time, I think fans will get what they deserve.
@D MAC Obviously, when she wrote that about Lou Holtz, she was being silly. Any sports "junkie" should know that. I suggest you invest in some ginkgo biloba so you can read between the lines.
Please correct the errors on the Duck game you just wrote up. Mariota threw 4 touchdowns not 2 and Washington hasn't beaten Zona, Oregon has. Also, Lou Holtz has never predicted Notre Dame would lose a game let alone go six and six. What are you waiting for even if that were the case? They have lost more than 6 games multiple times in recent memory.
Hi Lisa,
Ive been hearing a lot about some comments Lane Kiffin made after the ND-USC game last year, but cant seem to find any information as to what those comments were. Do you know what was said, or have a link to an article about them?
Thanks,
Dan S.
Hi Lisa.
Hope you are doing well. Sounds like it from your tweets.
I would love to get your comments on “With NCAA Amateurism a Joke, Here's How to Fix the Mess” at: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/741984-ncaa-and-amateurism-are-a-joke-how-to-fix-the-college-football-mess
I hope you find that this article finally pulls together the problems with the NCAA and practical solutions that will help the athletes and colleges.
I don't think anyone has covered the subject this completely before. Wish I could get the article to the 50 college presidents attending the NCAA meeting on Aug 9-10.
Thanks, Bill
