Sergei's Bio

I am a Journalism Major at Hunter College in NYC. I have been published in a few college papers and have received awards from the New Jersey College Press. I also intern for Bleacher Report. I was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to New Jersey at the age of 6. At some point in high school I realized that I would never become a professional athlete and realized the only legal way to make money while involving sports was to become a journalist.

I am a fan of all four major US sports as well as soccer. Eventually I would like to become a community leader for one of the communities here on B/R but only after writing thought out articles where I can display my knack for writing opposed to people who copy a bunch of quotes from other articles and consider themselves talented.

I will soon have access to New York Jets season tickets thanks to my lovely girlfriend which I will use to become a beat writer for anyone that will read.

    I wish I was a season ticket holder. I only get to watch games when tickets fall into my lap. Congrats on the girlfriend's tickets. You got yourself a winner, sir!

    Thanks for the info on Hunter, too. I work right across town on Broadway, but I don't know how much longer I'm going to be here. So I don't want to commit to Hunter and then have a ridiculous commute back to Brooklyn. I'm leaning towards Baruch at this point.

    Hey Sergei—Zander Freund, Bleacher Report Community Director here.

    Just a quick pointer: when you're editing an article that talks about Bleacher Report itself, make sure to tag it with "Bleacher Report." I have stripped Alex Ferguson's article of its inappropriate tags (like satire, humor, editorial, etc.) and given it its proper tag...just wanted to drop you a line for future reference.

    Thanks for the edit Sergei, but I wrote that piece to as close to BR standards and suggestions as possible. Also, 'Splain This: is a series of editorial pieces I've been writing for almost 2 years. I went back and made a few of the changes you suggested.
