Zander's Bio

Hey, I'm Zander. Thanks for reading my stuff.

That's me on the left, at the U.S. Open with my family. I'm the guy in the red shirt with the shapely beer gut. Classy, huh?

Where to begin...

I just turned 25 years old. I was born in New York, but moved out to the Bay Area when I was seven years of age. I've remained here ever since, other than a brief five year stint at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut (go Camels!)

After graduating from college, I was preparing to go to law school when I started working with three lifelong friends on a project called "Bleacher Report." The idea was to create an online sports network powered by the "fan expert," where writers, bloggers, and die-hard fans from all over the internet could get together and talk about their favorite teams and players within an atmosphere that fostered openness, creativity, and hard-nosed, honest debate.

Things ended up going better than we thought, and here we are now, doing what we love full time.

Monday through Friday, I'm all Bleacher, all the time. We work out of an office in San Francisco. My primary responsibilities are focused on seeking new ways to improve user interaction and engagement, and keeping our members fired up about the site. I also work directly with the network's most obsessed contributors in developing new kinds of content and building out the site's grassroots Community model.

As you may imagine, it's an awesome job, and I fully appreciate the fact that I get to work with talented journalists and sports fanatics for a living.

The weekends are a little different. I spend slightly less time working, devoting a portion of my energies to watching games, sipping cold ones, and hanging with buddies.

Oh and then there's Casey Clement, my wonderful, beautiful girlfriend. I met her while I was taking a semester off from college and working in LA, and we've been dating ever since. She is incredibly supportive of what I do, but there's one catch:

She doesn't like sports. At all, really.

Go figure right?

Casey does have a Bleacher Report account however, so feel free to try and show her the light!

I suppose that's about it. For any of my views on today's sporting issues, favorite teams, players, etc., take a peek at my articles or my Short List.

If you find yourself with questions about anything at all during your Bleacher Report experience, don't hesitate to leave a note on my Bulletin Board, or email me at zander@bleacherreport.com. Whether you're inquiring into future site features or simply looking for someone to bounce article ideas off of, I'm your man.

  1. Mr. Klein has singled me out in his next article, and assigned hatred to my comments when in fact I was not even the person who called him a racist. I removed him from my lineup because I told him his comments were irresponsible, and that seems to have engendered his vitriol. This is fine with me, but I believe writing that I (by name) attacked him with hatred is liable...please respond ASAP.

  2. Zander,

Can you please send me a copyu of the article, I would like to see it along with all of the comments. Do you also know what the number of reads was before you took it down.

I apoligze for my choice of words, as my intend was not to offend anyone. By using a better choice of words, my opinons, views, and stances can be crealy presented without harming anyone.

I want all of the members of the Bleacher Report community (excluding MJ) for my article, and did not intend to offend anyone. I hope to continue my participation on Bleacher Report, as I aspire to one day become a Senior Writer.

Also, I'm curious to understand your following of sports teams. How do you decide what team you are going to root for? And what's your feeling about Bonds, are you happy that he's gone? You must be able to find some fresh faces on the San Francisco Chronicle.

  3. Here is the article I would like deleted: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/21697-PLEASE-DELETE-THIS-ARTICLE-060508

    Thanks,
    Alex

  4. Hey Zander,

Can you please delete my most recent article? I changed the title and everything but I don't think anyone noticed it haha.

    Thanks,
    Alex

  5. I actually wish you had not censored Jeffrey Klein's story, although I understand you may have needed to from a business standpoint. It's just a shame the other person who commented that was overtly racist (and now I will not know who he was to avoid his drivle in the future) will not have a chance to have that confronted, and that no one will hear me show how many white athletes were being overlooked by these two.

  6. Zander

Normally, I would think its impossible for a 'shameless self promotion of Bleacher Report' through an edit.

    Uncredibly, you did it.

www.BleacherReport.com: Where Amazing Edits Happen! lol

Now, if I can only get at least 100 views on this article that only four, maybe five people (if you count Zanders wife) find it interesting

  7. Zander..

Why Have I been removed from the Rankings list on the FIFA page ?

You dont repond to my requests, you dont even respond to my notes....

I feel the time has come to withdraw from Bleacher Report, Eventhough I feel as though ive a HUGE contribution....

    So long...

  8. What is the time length for an article to be on the Most Commented or Most Viewed section?

  9. Hey Zander,

Check out my in depth analysis on the possible trading of Allen Iverson.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/21899-When-Does-The-Allen-Iverson-Sweepstakes-Begin-

  10. I see you have also removed the bad comments against me. Thank you. Very fair. I will try to ignore such people in the future. Two wrongs don`t make a right.

  11. Those comments are a reply based on similar comments.
If spoken to that way I will reply in kind everytime.

  12. I feel that there is a problem with my profile and I request you to try and look into it.

    Thanks

  13. hey zander, just wondering, why does the Formual one community have one leader when most others have two? I'll gladly be a joint leader:)

    Cheeky, I know.

  14. hey zander, sorry about the profanity in that comment, unintentional. won't happen again.

  15. Another thing Zander..

If you look at the writer rankings on the FIFA page, you'll find that im sitting 6th. However, my so-called latest article was from 10 days ago and I have posted 3 or 4 articles since then. Ive checked other writers and their latest article seems up to date...

I still have a problem with my articles not reaching the general play-by-play site. I dont what the problem is but its quite annoying..

Oh well, Im just gonna have to bide my time untill someone hears me...
