no problem buddy. it's my job.

No, it was good. Most of the time hits are total luck. The first so many hours after it's posted are important, because if people see it, rate it and comment on it, it will be in a prominent place on the site.
So if people don't happen to see it and other stories do have that happen, your article fades off the front page of MLB before it had a shot.
Other times, you may find you'll write articles that you aren't as happy with and they'll get way more hits.
By the way, what time did you post it during the day? If you post around peak hours (5-8 p.m., I'm guessing), it's more likely people will be online to see it in the first few hours it will be up there with whatever tags you gave it.
But, as I said, definitely keep internet search engines in mind when you write headlines, cuz Google puts crazy weight on what's in them. In fact, the sooner a term is in the headline, the better. If you write a Yankees article, might not be a bad idea to start it with "Yankees Update: This and That Happened" -- something like that.
If you read another story related to yours, you might want to comment on it and say you had similar (or different) thoughts on the topic in your article, then paste a link. Don't do that unless the articles are very related, of course, cuz that'd be spamming. But if it's relevant there's nothing wrong with doing that at all.
Good luck getting more hits next time you post.

Thanks for that edit. I tend to forget what MLB stands for, and that it doesn't need a "the".

thanks for the edits. i didn't notice a lot of those grammatical errors before.

When you start an article, don't hit "upload photo;" just look beside it to the left and you'll see a place to type in a keyword. That will help you find pictures on B/R's database.

Mostly use B/R pics if you can, cuz those are almost always sharp enough.
If you go elsewhere, try to use pictures that look much bigger than you need online, if possible. Don't save thumbnails, for example. Also, the photo cropping tool sometimes zooms in by default, so you can try zooming out. I haven't done too much with uploading pictures, but that's my best advice.
I just replaced the picture on your Randolph article by using this one:

Found it with a Google image search. When you use pictures like this or from Yahoo!, as you were doing, make sure to crop them slightly differently to help contribute to making the image different to fall under "fair use" standards.
Hope that helps.

Hey man, nice article on Randolph—see my feedback on the article history regarding doing something new in light of his firing (if you have time).

Yeah, Lyon was my coach, still is the coach. Did you ever coach on the staff while he was at Oakland?

I'm not sure I really understand the concept you were going for, so I don't think I can help at all.

Always a pleasure, Michael. Keep it coming when you can...
