Jeff is a member of the Pan American Rugby Writers Association: www.RugbyWriters.com
Born in the Year of the Horse, Jeff Hull was determined to become a writer before the glue factory came calling. Having seen his epic construction yard screenplay, "Snakes On A Crane", fail to make it to the big screen in 2005, Jeff turned his talents to covering the sport of rugby.
Rising from the ranks as a passionate player and coach, Jeff has been covering the game as a writer, reporter and analyst since 2006. He has been awarded bachelors degrees in both liberal arts and education, as well as an M.A. in Global Studies. The world of rugby journalism has been his ever-expanding passion.
While primarily a Featured Columnist on rugby for B/R, he is also able to dabble in hockey writing from time to time.
Jeff's writing is regularly featured in rugby websites and magazines around the world, such as RugbyRugby.com, UR7s.com, as well as on TSN.ca in Canada.
At the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand, Jeff's article "Blood Sport" featured in the official IRB World Cup program.
In addition to his writing, Jeff has also served as Press Officer for the Canadian Under-17 rugby team, as well as Canada's National Senior Men's and Women's Sevens teams at IRB tournaments from Dubai to London to Las Vegas.
Jeff is proud to make his home in the acknowledged "Centre of the Universe", Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Jeff, where have you been? There have been so many Tom Sunderland fluff-pieces recently it makes me miss your writing.
Thanks Dan! I have responded in a private message. Cheers!
Awesome columns! Big fan of your content and delivery. If you don't mind me asking, how did you break covering the sport for BR? Was it a hobby that just made a natural transition or was it always a career endeavor for you? Appreciate any advice you have for a Yank. Thanks again for the great material! Cheers.
Thanks for the read on the big rugby hit and appreciate the words. Hopefully rugby does get more play on the front, because it's exciting as hell to me.
Have a good one.
Just watched the game. The scoreline does not do Canada justice, as they played so much better.
Sadly, I will not be covering that game, but will be covering the Canada v Ireland game at BMO field this week.
Jeff, will you be covering the IRB World Junior Trophy Final between Italy and Canada?
I would love to see the Canadians emulate the Americans last year, and qualify for the World Junior Championships.
Hi Jeff, would you mind cover (i.e. write the review or preview, and rate the performance of each player) each British & Irish Lions vs. Australian Wallabies game? You are only few of writers on Bleacher Report who can analyze and write about rugby.
Thanks Jeffrey. We have connected.
I provided your profile information to Stephanie Weaver, Marketing Manager of the Houston Sports Authority, who are promoting the USA Men's Rugby vs. Ireland match on June 8 here in Houston. She can be contacted at sweaver@HoustonSports.org if B/R would be interested in doing a preview.
Here's a link to the match: http://bbvacompassstadium.com/usa-mens-rugby-vs-ireland
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
