I see MSU for what they are as a football program. A fraud. I know that their best coach ever, Nick Saban, used them as a stepping stone to a more prestigious school, LSU, and is now on the verge of winning his 4th national title overall, this time with Alabama. I know that, despite claiming 6 national titles, only 3 of them are by official NCAA consensus selectors, and only 2 of them are AP or Coaches' Poll titles. I know that Purdue and Northwestern still have more Big Ten titles than Michigan State after all these years of letting MSU play catchup while they're rebuilding (they have 8 each, MSU has 7). I know that they've only gone to 1 Rose Bowl since 1966. I know that, from 1967-2007, they had only one year, 1987, where they've had a better record than Michigan. Finally, I know that MSU is ranked #26 on ESPN's list of most prestigious programs since 1936, 18 ranks below Michigan, and yet they still think they are the more elite program in this state in the modern era of college football. Sorry if you think I'm obsessed about them, but for every 1 Michigan fan who rants about State, there are 5,000 State fans who rant about us, and this 2012 season showed us their true colors.
They are who we thought they were.
MSU crushed Michigan ...again. Yeah, they are exactly who we thought they were: yesterday's story.
Welcome to 2013.
