    Captain Comeback

Not a fair weather fan at all. If I was, I would never have picked the Cowboys who were known during their first decade as "The team that can't win the big game." Kind of a long story but I'll try to be succinct: My dad was Air Force, so we moved around a lot. First professional sports game I saw in person was Dallas at the Cotton Bowl when I was 6. Thus, they became my pro football team. I next saw the Yankees when I was about 8 at Yankee Stadium. Thus, etc. The Celtics I did pick when I was a kid because they won a lot and were on TV. I have never been to a pro basketball game. I did pick one team from my home state, Washington, the Washington Huskies. If they had had the Seahawks and Mariners when I was younger, those definitely would have been my teams. But I have stuck with Dallas through good times, '72, '77, and the 90s and bad the rest of the years to date. Same with the Yanks. When I was a kid, Mickey Mantle was my fav baseball player (me and and just every other kid in the U.S.). Then later, they hit tough times off and on. They won most of their championsips either before I was born or old enough to be cognizant. Again, the 70s and 90s were nice and a bit in the 2000s. Celtics had a loooong dry spell after Byrd and company retired and still aren't dominant. If I was a fair weather fan my teams would probably be Lakers, Patriots and probably still the Yanks. I'm not a real hockey fan but my wife is and I live in Michigan so hence, the Redwings. Lots of Military Brats have the same type of strange mixture of favs. One more thing (and I hate the 49ers) RGIII may become great (if he stays healthy) but he can't hold Montana's jock strap and unless he wins 4 SBs never will).

  • omg. I'm jealous. care for fan add?
