I am a senior at Rutgers University double majoring in Finance and Sports Management. Ever since I was young I have had an interest in sports and that passion has only grown over the years.
I grew up about an hour outside of New York City so I am a fan of many of the teams in the New York Metro area. My favorite team remains the Yankees, followed by the Jets and Knicks. I also a huge fan of college sports rooting for Rutgers, North Carolina and USC.
I've been a Yankee fan my entire life and became a Jets fan by association with the team. My grandpa had Jets season tickets for about the first 15 years of my life, so I had to be a fan since I went to so many games. Looking back I wish they were Giants season tickets, but that's another story.
I am currently involved in the Bleacher Report Sports Writing Internship for the spring semester of 2013. Hopefully during this experience I can learn a lot from you as fans and maybe you'll even learn a thing or two from me.

We have a superb surname, Shawn.
Thanks for becoming a fan, Shawn! How are you enjoying writing for B/R? Your writing is terrific, especially your recent piece about why the USA soccer team won't make it to Brazil. Sad, but true. I see you're involved in the sportswriting internship — how's that going so far? I actually did the same internship a few years ago and loved the challenge! It was a ton of fun and I definitely learned a good deal about everything from working on deadline to branching out of my comfort zone and researching sports I wasn't as knowledgeable about. If you have any questions or are looking for some insight, don't hesitate to reach out!
