I absolutely idolize Arsene Wenger, who is probably the best coach Arsenal, if not the world, has ever seen. I want to write about Arsenal and football in general..... C'mon Arsenal!

Shyam,
Haha that's hilarious. I would love to watch a game between the two clubs in that village. My town would be the same if it weren't for the liverpool and chelsea supporters scattered here and there. Yeah Kanu was popular, and now Toure and Adebayor are the popular ones. And actually now that I think about it, Arsenal started becoming popular ever since they won the league in 2002. And the popularity only increased after 2004. And it doesn't ever look like dying down either. They should play a friendly here or something. lol.

The B/R team are looking at creative ways to get the new writers involved,any suggestions from our top writers would be invaluable...

We are considering a poll of topics which our top writers could vote for as the topic for the Round Table Discussions,However,all that is for the future..

Phew! The 3rd Round Table has been published and now we're on course for our forth one...
This time the topic is :

"Who do you think is currently the World's best holding midfielder or CDM?".

Example of these are Viera,M.Diarra,Mascherano,Gattuso,Makelele,Hargreaves,Gilberto,Edmilson etc..pick from these or choose your own but it has to be a holding midfielder..a striker,winger,defender,attacking midfielder will NOT be accepted..

If you want to participate write a contribution 50-150 words long..atleast 50 words and email it to worldfootball@post.com latest by this Sunday or Monday..

If someone feels there are too many roundtables and are putting pressure on the writers,let me know and we'll delay it..

After the success of the first two round tables,I have been urged by our top writers and Zander Freund to "keep em coming",However,we don't want to put to much pressure on our top writers so we are going to keep a round table discussion on a weekly basis.

The B/R team are looking at creative ways to get the new writers involved,any suggestions from our top writers would be invaluable...

Presently,the FIFA community's third round table discussion is to be unveiled.

It can be a poacher,a clinical finisher,an old fashioned striker...or anyone just has to be forward playing today not somebody who retired years ago like Pele...You have to describe why you chose them and the club and country,they play for...

It will surely be tough but we don't want it to get too predictable..I think It's fair to let the underdogs also be chosen by the writers..anyone from the last 8..

I suppose it could be further pushed back by a day or two so we could get the results of France vs Italy and Holland vs Romania..The following day with Sweden vs Russia..fair enough I guess,

Hey Shyam,

The way you are balancing your contributions between Football and Cricket is overwhelming here for us all here at Bleacher Report.

However this time around there is something more important.

I've decided to do a 'Round Table' column in the World Football community, inspired by Michael Whittenberg's examples in the NBA section and Jon Naylor in the Cricket section. What this basically comprises of is making a collaborative article from many different writers about a particular subject.

The headline I want to use is:

'If you wanted your club to buy a certain player, who would it be and why?'.

I want to get a global perspective and hopefully build a really good discussion.Of course,this does not relate only to the English Premier League which means your favourite club could be anywhere in the world (preferably it should be in one of the more known European countries) so even if you support Bayern Munich,AS Roma,Newcastle,Southampton,Arsenal,Sevilla,Barcelona,Lyon or CSKA Moscow,feel free to write in.

I was just on Arsenal FC's website this morning and i saw our new kit for next season. Its been circulating for quite a while, but now i know it's real. A lot of fans think its untraditional but i think its almost the same as the dreamcast kit! What do you think (not that it will really change a thing just want to hear your opinion)

I was browsing and saw this article you wrote.

I wanted to correct a mistake you made.

You said: "Now, the offside rule is pretty clear. If the defender does get a deflection off the ball on the way to the attacker and the attacker is in an offside position and scores, it is not an offside due to the defender deflecting the ball en route to the attacker."

That is incorrect. A deflection off of an opponent does not reset offside. You can see this is Law 11, Decision 2:

"Gaining an advantage by being in that position means playing a ball that rebounds to him off a post or the crossbar having been in an offside position or playing a ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside position."

So in the example you wrote, it would be offside because the attacker gained an advantage by being in an offside position.

PS. My article on Freddie Ljungberg was just a spur of the moment thing. I think i got hooked on Bleacher Report but hopefully my articles will improve over time with a lot more substance behind them.

Great article! I mainly made stylistic changes, formatting your paragraphs and tweaking your headline.
