Vince Lombardi once said, "We didn't lose the game. We just ran out of time." It's obvious that sports is more than just a game to many. However it is that "more" part that brings the passion and excitement to every tip-off, kick-off or first pitch. I believe sport is an essential part of American culture, as it emulates the basic values that we hold ourselves to each day: teamwork, equality, hard work and opportunity. But at the same time, sport acts as a great facilitator between cultures and communities, offering any fan, observer or competitor the opportunity to share the emotions behind each game.
I am a senior attending the University of Southern California pursuing a major in communication and a minor in advertising. I hope to extend my passion for sports, writing and art through a career in the advertising, public relations, business or marketing industries.
